    Bump the RAM to at least 512 megs and pop tiger on 'em. I run Tiger on my G3/500/512 PowerBook, and it's extremely zippy :)

    It works; I run System 1 on my Classic from time to time for the helluvit :)

    I'd go with System 6; either 6.0.whatever that's in the ROM, or 6.0.8 off a hard disk. If you go the ROM route, you'll have a lean 6 and leave your entire HDD free for your apps. You will not have MultiFinder. Go with 6.0.8 off the HDD, you'll have a far more customizable, multitasking...
