So i got it all out and whatnot and its got a battery soldered in with legs. A while back I got this kit from ebay for my IIgs https://www.ebay.com/itm/235645917276 It was the same situation to hook it up in my IIgs. What I was thinking is why dont I rob the one out of my IIgs and put it in this...
Ran into the first thing thats stumped me so far. Took apart the SE with the radius card in it. Trying to get the logic board out but theres a card on top of it that the radius card plugged into, and the socket is hitting and wont let me pull the board up. I dont know what to do ive look all...
Thanks everyone for the input on the printers and scanner I dont want to reply directly to everyone since there was alot of you, but ive pretty much decided ill hold onto them all with the exception of the big and bulky laserwriter. Its just massive and heavy so it will end up being parted with...
Everything does. I did plug it in to the wall and turn it on to see what would happen it seems to work good. The light was green and it ejected a square plastic tray out that you put a cd in, then i push it back in there and the light gos yellow for a minute while its doing its thing then green...
I found an Apple ImageWriter II, Apple Stylewriter, Apple Personal LaserWriter LS, and an Apple Scanner. No cords for anything and the stylewriter is missing the tray(s) its just the body.
Worth keeping?
I was checking it out and theres a label on the bottom that says "1.1 GB/20 MB - Bad Screen"
So we're now in the same boat Lol it probably shit out when it was new and spent 30 years in that Duo Dock.
Is it possible to still use the laptop with the Duo Dock?
I grabbed one of the 3 Duo Docks, the one with the laptop stuck in it. So it turns out this one and one other one are Duo Dock Plus's and the other one is an original Duo Dock.
I tried pushing the manual release button on the side to get the laptop out i was shaking it upside down over the bed...
Was feeling lazy today didn't do a whole lot. Went through a bunch of the PC towers to check for cards. Found out im the owner of a shit load of 486s lol. A 386, couple pentium 1s, and a pentium 3 tower. The towers are mostly in rough shape i didnt clean them up yet i just went digging for video...
I wasn't saying do it i said perhaps. I don't know where to get enough acetone but id test it myself if i could
edit: Id probably dip it in there and swirl it around, then put in water. and repeat see what happened if i did try it
I decided to test out the SE SuperDrive that I tore down and put a new battery in earlier and to my surprise it was perfect. Screen was bright and crisp, drive was good with all the old files still intact. Responsive and fast, fan worked and it sounded good.
Opened up the SE FDHD and its toast battery went grenade mode doesnt look at all salvageable! RIP!
Is there anything desirable I can salvage from it for my other 2?
I personally like the yellowing to me its like petina on a bronze statue or that nice green oxidation copper gets. I found that acetone nail polish remover completely de yellows but it melts the plastic if you rub it. I accidently cleaned a big area on my IIe by letting nail polish remover...
Alright so went through what turned out to be 4 Power Mac 7100/66's and 1 Power Mac 7500/100
Out of the 4 7100s 2 had blown batteries, one so bad i couldn't even get the case off it was frozen on there and the plastic just disintegrated. 2 of them looked good internally.
The 7500 was in nice...
