Drexel University "Cattle Branded" Original Macintosh

I'm with you there...if you can punch up a 128k to run RSG 4.5 or Quark 3 then it deserves to be kept there!

Drexel University "Cattle Branded" Original Macintosh

There's the cleaned D. They really branded deep into the plastic with this one. Case cleaned up very nicely. There are a couple very small knicks and one on the CRT but really its in amazing shape.

Drexel University "Cattle Branded" Original Macintosh

@Trash80toHP_Mini happy to join the Drexel 128k club! :) While I appreciate your POV regarding usefulness, I'd much prefer an unmodified example true to historic roots. Love how yours spurred an entire lineage of crazy tinkering though! I will see about cleaning the D and sharing more...

Let's give it up for Lee Felsenstein's Osbourne 1 which turned 45 on April 3rd. That's right, in 1981 this featherweight 25 pounder ushered in the mass-produced portable computer!

@Snial I'm glad you have such a firm grasp...you have quite a challenge ahead of you homebrewing one of your own. ;) That said I'm seriously considering having a set builder make me a full scale replica for my living room which could be broken down for rentals

@Chuckdubuque there are several different colors combinations. You can't tell with the lighting but the tower panels in #038 here are actually very dark green The benches conceal the cooling system. And the towers are filled with "logic modules" and very heavy "cold plates" of copper to cool...

    ClassicGuyPhilly's Finds

I celebrated starting an awesome new job with a special acquisition. I have an unhealthy obsession with luggables and early portables, and this is the OG of them all. I remember seeing an Osborne in an airport when young and being blown away! As an adult and learning about the man behind the...
