Haha that’s cool! Do I use it is probably what I ask the most. Effort restoring not so much. I enjoy the restoration so always wanting to add more to fix it and sell it off again. I collect, then get frustrated with how much room it’s all taking, then sell. Then repeat. 😂 Thanks! I keep...

Faster compiles and IDE performance (I find running CodeWarrior on a 1280x1024 display on any of my 040s still exhibits lag in the editor window). Cross compiles are a bit nicer too. So yeah, need at least one PowerPC based machine. I could of course do development on a modern system with...

I have been trying to reduce my collection and sold a few of them recently. But having issues reducing further. For the following 11 machines, if you could only keep 5 of them, which would you let go? Macintosh SE - full memory, has a working miniscribe hard disk Macintosh SE/30 - full memory...

👍 very cool! I spent a lot of time at Cal surrounded by Sun machines.

Not Mac related... but finally cobbled together a fully working Sun Ultra 1 workstation with proper monitor, keyboard, mouse. Joins my NeXTStation Color in my non-Mac collection.

LC Models - Which to keep?

IMHO, this is a futile exercise. If you sell it, within 12 months you will look for a Performa 400 again for some obscure reason. We all have a disease. The collection never shrinks, it grows. I was meant to have just an SE. I have sixteen machines now. Sell 1, end up buying 2. Goodluck! 🤣

Spoke too soon. Still running into problems with SCSI. Crash happened again and this time, it seems to have corrupted the disk image on my Zulu as the image no longer works even on other machines. External controller seems ok? But the internal chain seems to have an issue. Gonna have to try and...

I had put my Quadra 950 up for sale but determined that I was still getting speaker pop issues as well as some random crashes on power up. I finally got some time to debug the issues. First, the speaker pop. I had played with it enough previously to diagnose the speaker pop to the use of an...

The model for the floppy slot cover is here: https://www.printables.com/model/1694893-macintosh-ii-floppy-drive-cover The light pipe is best printed in clear resin using a 3D resin printer. Obviously won't work with non clear material.

@campbellashe I do have the front floppy drive cover with led hole as a model. Also have a led light pipe for a 5mm standard size led also. I won’t be able to get to it to early next week but will get those and post the models.

    8500 caps

I replaced the logic board caps on my 8500. All of the caps visually looked ok. But some of them had moisture underneath and fish smell. I think the smaller 10uFs were worse than the larger 47uFs.

    LCIII EPROM?

Lots of trace fixes. The battery had leaked all through the onboard memory and damaged many of the traces. I replaced all of the memory chips and had to add some bodge wires.
