Nice fan indeed, but the problem with those translucent fan blades is that they usually don't last long. It reminds me about the Noiseblocker S4 fans that were very popular 15 years ago but broke like glass after a couple of years.

Have you guys heard of this project ? Doesn't support soft power but definitely worth a look.

IIRC, the Classic had a 40-pin rom chip, which is less common nowadays. Am I wrong ?

Hi, I realized that both Firmtek and Wiebetech sold Sil3132 based controller cards for late-2005 PowerMac G5. I had a Sil3132 card sitting in a drawer so I decided to give it a try. Fortunately, this card has a 4mbit eeprom. The firmware file (ROM.3132.2SE2) was taken from Firmtek's latest...

The replacement board arrived today, but it was so poorly packaged that it was damaged during transport: A chip and a cap were floating around in the box : They come from the areas in the yellow and red circles. Great. Now I'm stuck with two damaged boards. Repairing is not an option...

Yes. But at least 3 capacitors are missing and lots of PCB traces are damaged as well. Ram and CPU should be Ok though.

I believe there are good chances to save the Q610 mobo. Concerning Q660's mobo, well I decided to get one from eBay. Cost me US$ 81.20 with shipping and import taxes. D'oh!...

Another tragedy discovered today... Quadra 610 and 660av didn't make it :'( The mess was still liquid in the Q610 : Funny though, another soldered Varta battery from a Mac II still showing some charge

Bad, or rejected by a B&W G3 ? It's not the same :lol: Those seem to become pickier about ram quality.

Thank you Doug. I don't understand why it failed last year... Could have been a problem with my Quicksilver, or with the PC mobo I used for flashing. :lol:
