Likely so, although I would presume ENET for Ethernet (transceiver) and CNET for coaxial (or 'cheapernet') so it looks to be correct.
Old ethernet cards can have troubles if connected onto gigabit ethernet ports on modern switches. An older switch inbetween (or manually setting the port to...
Ah, thanks, almost that! I wondered why they would call it Colorvue if it can only display greyscale...
My Portrait monitor is in storage, and I didin't expect my LCD to sync to the cards output but it did! With the VGA-adapter I got a green 1024x768 and even without installing any drivers it...
That's neat!
I did a similar tweak for the BlueSCSI's external version as it wouldn't fit into my IIcx's chassis. (This is now available at the github as a remix-version of the original case). I do like the look of how the Mac ports are recessed but sometimes it gets tricky even with just...
Hi.
Years ago when I got my Mac LC with an Apple Portrait Display, there was this PDS card inside the machine. I presumed it was required to use the Portrait display (I am not sure if I ever tried it with the LC's built-in graphics, and now I couldn't find a list of what Macs supported it by...
Oh wow, that was an interesting piece of software... thanks!
I just tested it and it kinda works! After adding the fudger, GetDown would then complain about missing Thread Manager. After adding that too, I was able to launch it! However the downloads were very slow and it was be very unstable...
I can't offer any help here, but this is fascinating to read and I hope this investigative work will help getting more stuff working in the A/UX's Mac side, fe. GetDown Classic (which currently does not work there). That would be nice :)
I know this is not a mechanically good solution (nor does it last as well as the original battery), but I designed and used this 3D-printable in my Mac Plus: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4558846
@jessenator - I've now printed one. The CPU fits there quite snugly on the pins, kinda holds it in even when turned upside down. Perhaps down to printing precision too (mine was somewhat on the faster side).
As I had only one I couldn't test stacking, but it should work just fine (the posts...
OS X 10.4 Tiger for me. That welcome animation!
I only used it as a main OS on my iMac G3 that I was given for free (my gateway drug to modern Macs) in late 2000's.
@jessenator - thanks, I'll have a look. I only have two 68ks in storage and I thought to add some protection to them (in addition to the SMD bags) or possibly use it as a display stand.
@jessenator I really like those 68k CPU storage-frames you showed earlier. I couldn't see any links or files in the discussion so if you still have those, would you mind sharing them? :) I'd like to print some of those stackable single-CPU ones.
Regarding that 'Thanks for choosing Macintosh' - there is a different version available on archive.org: https://archive.org/details/apple-030-3357/mode/1up. I hope the one seen here gets archived as well, I quite like these :)
That's right! :D (Upgraded from LC to a full 040, new one is actually rated 25Mhz but haven't figured out if I could swap the oscillator on board to up it all the way to 25...)
@Phipli - thanks! Just the other day I was wondering if something like this exists. I just tried this on my 68040@20Mhz can play Radio Paralax on lowest settings (and not locking the machine completely), nice! (y)
@Pushpull76: I don't have the motherboard, only the parts listed (the seller had already get rid of the machine after the battery leak, these were the parts he salvaged and then sold to me).
I didn't realize the presence of the W1 jumper (on-board or SIMM ROM select) last night I tried. However...
Hi,
I bought pile of Mac IIfx parts (from a machine sadly already trashed due to a heavy battery-bomb) from a local auction.
The main piece of the auction for me was an Asante MacCon+ IIe Nubus Ethernet card (with an external twisted pair MAU). I just put this into my IIcx and it works great...
Wow, I just put an A/UX image into my BlueSCSI and it booted. I was totally surprised how easy it was (y)
And yes, the MacSense card does work under A/UX!
Another thought: if I put the BlueSCSI permanently into the Centris, it would look pretty nice if I replaced the green power LED on the...
