You might be able to use a SCSI PCI card, make an image of the drive, and boot that off of an emulator, (sheepshaver or something?), and get the files off using that. But I agree with what LaPorta said, finding a member here willing to do it may be the cheapest/easiest way

I don't know if it was someone did all that work, as I got an SE FDHD a couple of years a go with the same thing, and it didn't look like the socket was added after the fact.  Maybe some revision SEs have the wired in batteries, and some have the socket?

I have some leftover woodgrain vinyl from a woodgrain pentium build I did a while ago(inspired by LGR's woodgrain 486) Luckily that stuff is pretty easy to remove, so I might give it a try

I've definitely considered the SCSI2SD and will probably go with that for some of my machines, but I have a good amount of machines that I don't use often enough to justify the $50+ pricetag on.

Has anyone successfully gotten this to work on a Mac yet? I have a question with how this works if I have some boards made.  Is the pi getting power from the floppy connector through the GPIO pins?, or does it need its own power source.  I'm assuming the former since it appears the power line...

I haven't done much troubleshooting yet(have a couple of other projects I'm working on first), but what lead me to the flyback is the dead mac scrolls.  Would definitely be good if it wasn't the flyback.   What're your thoughts the best way to determine what the issue is?  Inspect the analog...
