    LC475 with no video

    SMD packages don't sit completely flush to the board. If you use #32 bare wire there should be plenty of clearance.

    LC475 with no video

    All is not lost. It looks as if all the lifted pads are adjacent to via's. Run some thin through those holes and flow solder in from the other side. You should be able bend the wires outwards on the top and solder them to the DRAM pins. Only one of the holes seems visibly obstructed and can...

    InventoryDifferent - a system for managing, tracking, selling, and showing off your collection

    Docker *hates* me, but perhaps I'll give this application a try.

    LC475 with no video

    From my experience a battery is required in order to get video display.

    A journal of two SE/30s

    I've had very poor results when attempting to remove caps with hot air. Solder that's been attacked by electrolyte does not conduct heat well. If you really want to go in that direction you'll want a pre-heater.

    Yes, according to Joe's web page it's a fork of the HootSwitch project.

    Mac SE/30 Display Suddenly Wonky

    What is the technical reason why DDP AppleTalk doesn't work with WiFi?

    I suspect my Wifi access point (Archer AX5400) does not properly handle DDP packets. I am able to connect to an appletalk server with zuluscsi, but the connection does not persist over reboot and no zones are visible. Does this make sense in the context of improperly handled DDP?

    Apple Lisa - Information & Help!

    I was able to resurrect two Lisa 2/5 machines with worse battery damage than yours. Soaking the CPU and backplane in vinegar overnight neutralized the battery grunge and they cleaned up quite well. Then it's a "simple matter" of finding and repairing any actual trace damage. May be a bit of...

    Apple LocalTalk interface box

    I believe you need a crossover cable to wire the machines directly together.

    SE/30 recap - capacitor pads lifting, looking for advice

    Truer words were never spoken. My batting average on hot-air reflow (either direction) was miserable until I picked up an IR pre-heater. It is possible to work without one, but YMMV.

    Macintosh 128K BMU0 PAL JED -> GAL

    I ran your BMU0.JED through the conversion under dosbox. Let me know if this works? UPDATE: Here's another conversion from OPALJR.

    Macintosh 128K BMU0 PAL JED -> GAL

    The old DOS PALASM package had a utility called PALTOGAL.EXE that performs a direct translation of the JED file. Also something similar in the OPALJR package from the same period. Might be worth a try!
