I took off some ram chips and put on an expansion board. One works fine, the other one is giving me grief. See attached video. Do ram chips have to be a certain direction like the writing on the top? Sorry if dumb question but I can’t think of anything else? Will attach picture of both sides...

Would reflow the caps you did and clean board really well. Definitely needs good vram to display anything

Sweet. I have two untouched 180 displays that have tunnel vision. I just dont want to take apart a laptop to test them afterwards lol.. tempted though

The pins inside the 540 may need to be bent back out. Also, the 540 psu definitely needs recapping as well. Just bought another 540c and its power supply reaked of fish smell

Have you tried mode 32 and switch it on, restart and see what it says? Weird issue

Yup, cc analog boards hard to find. I was lucky and found one locally a few years back. I was sad that they are hard to find. The guy recapped part of analog so I finally finished that a few weeks back.

I have almost always have had to pull off the sound and egret on those boards due to cap leakage. I have had broken traces, or legs turn to powder so needed to cut into the actual chip etc etc.

Ok, so I have this Mac plus. I have like 4 external hard drives that all work. One is an ultra 45. I can’t seem to copy anything to it as it is “write protected”. Is this software or something on the drive itself?? Also, this system on this drive is system 6.1. It has a nifty little screen saver...

Which ring’s need adjustment? I replaced the crt in a mac plus and two rings came loose. So just left them. It works fine but the display is a little to the left. How to adjust that?

So, just got this. Recapped the display and logic. Everything seems to work as it should except the reset button doesnt work. The programmer one does. So if I turn it on with keyboard and then hit both buttons i just get the sad mac chime. So does the capacitor affect the reset button right there?
