G'day all,  I have two PowerBook G4 1.67ghz 17"  DLSD Laptops. One of the 17" battery is no good/has less than 2 mins of charge left on it and other one has good charge. Saw the prices online of what is available and its too expensive. I was wondering if anyone has any success re-celling...

The first upgrade I would get 44pin to SD adapter for what its worth. 8.6 you might find it sluggish - My 1400/166 is on 8.1 and its comfortable, but 3400/240 is on 8.6 its perfect. Cheers AP

To hunt one down (I'm not being negative) the chances is very slim to find the adapter board. You're better off getting complete board. Cheers AP

FYI - Quadra 605 is basically LC475 - it has a jumper attached to it to become Quadra 605, otherwise without it it'll become LC475. Cheers AP

Good evening all, Tonight I accidently broke the CRT while removing the hard drive/floppy and I cracked it. I have another spare CRT from Macintosh Classic, but it had different Yoke's connector. SO I decided to swap over the yoke over to working CRT, but I haven't fired it up - I will resume...

Correct me wrong - I am pretty sure I've seen PowerBook HD years ago. I've always called main HDD "Macintosh HD" to today. Cheers AP

Hey mate - I did try doing it on Q660av - same issue what you're having - ditched it and moved back to Q800 in Q700 shell (I did have it running in Q950 but I rather Q700 shell with 800 board in it). Running 1.6.4 with Mac OS 7.6.1 Cheers AP

It all comes down to how it was used/how it was stored - I have several powerbooks that the batteries are still alive today Cheers AP
