    G4 MDD (3,6) Power Cable

Returning to this thread now that I have launched CompleteSet, a new online resource that aims to address questions like this in a more efficient and reliable way. Right now the software CDs portion of the project is the only complete part; I will also be expanding this to documentation...

Weird SSD boot issue iMac G3 SSD

I have a similar SSD configuration in my 500 MHz Indigo slot-loader, and can confirm that booting from OS 9 behaves similarly. After about 30 seconds of the disk with flashing question mark, it boots up just fine every time. I've never minded it (I always just considered it part of the boot-up...

1GHz TiBook has two very annoying problems

I once had a machine with the same issue as your first problem here. Took it apart and found that the speaker wasn't plugged in ... So that taught me to look for the simplest things first :) These are easy enough to disassemble so I'd check and make sure stuff is connected properly first.

My 21" Apple Studio Display (Blueberry - CRT) Restoration Project

Thanks for photographing and documenting all of this. It is great to have resources like this in the community. As an aside, good grief there are a ton of caps in there. I count at least 60 on the ColorSync board alone. This display would be one helluva recap job. I've not previously seen...

How to adjust monitor in iMac G3?

I don't have OS X on my iMac G3 so I can't personally say for sure, but there should be some kind of "displays" section in System Preferences depending on what version of X you are using.

How to adjust monitor in iMac G3?

Most of the adjustments are found under the "Monitors" control panel in OS 9.

    G4 MDD (3,6) Power Cable

Thanks for the kind words. Interesting - so 658-0235 is definitely the keyboard then; who knows what the remaining 602-5222 is.

    G4 MDD (3,6) Power Cable

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, this is a case where I am certain that the box pieces are all original to the machine based on the ownership history and condition of the unit when I received it. And, the list looks good to me! All of that is consistent with the CIB machines I have in my...

    G4 MDD (3,6) Power Cable

Thanks for linking to my site - I try to keep things as accurate as possible. If you look at the "accessory cover" cardboard insert for my MDD on that page, you can see the black Pro Mouse is depicted there. So, this system did ship with black peripherals. The later "MDD '03" (single 1.25...

    Ice Technology iCube Speaker System

I hadn't even considered that this would match the G3 B&W well, so thanks for pointing that out. I'll have to get that set up sometime soon. :)

    Ice Technology iCube Speaker System

Yes, that seems likely - someone on TinkerDifferent was able to find this capture on the Internet Archive from Ice Technology's website in 2001, where the iCube was listed as their only product. So, it seems these were a classic example of low-volume rebadged product sold by a small company...

    Ice Technology iCube Speaker System

Howdy folks, I recently acquired this NOS "iCube Multimedia Super Woofer Speaker System." According to the box it was produced by a Silicon-Valley-based company named Ice Technology, copyright date is 1999. Obviously this product was designed to compliment the Blueberry iMac G3s produced...

    ClassicGuyPhilly's Finds

Very nice! Love to see it. yes, by the sounds of it I'd venture that this is a flyback-related issue. Best of luck, update us if you do decide to attempt a fix.

    ClassicGuyPhilly's Finds

Yeah, apparently there is a modern replacement part available somewhere out there, or at least there was one at some point in the last few years as this video highlights. The flyback issue on these monitors almost always presents as a sporadic snapping or "click" sound every ~5-10 seconds, and...

Restoration of G4 Diamondtron Monitor Bondi Blue

A few years ago someone did a very nice YouTube video of the flyback transformer replacement on one of these, here is the link. If it doesn't power on (no signs of life at all? no amber/green power button LED?), that would almost make me think it's something other than the flyback but I am not...
