Yeah one backwards cap shouldnt do anything but with vintage, who knows? This little monitor worked good before so i hoping its easy to fix. All monitors i have done (6) have worked fine. Was hoping to fix that apple vision 17” but has same issues as before.
I tried adjustments but no real change. So will let electricity dissipate and wait over night. Will take apart and check my caps, reflow, and see if anything makes a difference.
recapped a working 12” apple rgb color monitor. Pretty straightforward. Now i have a small band so i guess vertical collapse? Any idea what and where to check? I wonder is any of my new caps are an issue?
resurrecting an old thread. I have no sound from speaker on lc3 but headphone works great. I removed and cleaned sound chip and pads. Still the same. Went over David Cooks steps and found no continuity between sp1 and the speaker pins. All other steps were fine. How to find broken trace / via...
So grabbed 4 7100 boards online hoping to make a few good ones. Nope, one board works, rest turn on but no chime or anything else. Processors do not looked cracked or anything. Any idea? Or just recycle them?
Recapped and rethermal pasted the working one and have it back in a machine now.
Recapped a barn find iisi and it came back pretty good so far. It chimes, boots, passes all tests i have tried on it. Only thing is i have 3 different nubus Ethernet adapters that are known good because i have another iisi to try on. When i stick any one of them in the nubus slot on this machine...
I had this issue with a lc475 and was annoying as hell to figure out. Recapped the caps closest to floppy and that fixed it. On an se/30 i am not sure what those caps would be. Also clean swim chip and areas around where caps leaked goo with isopropyl 99%
I have an applevision 17” that was given to me. It works, but the bottom of the screen can sometimes get lines and sometimes whole screen seems to jiggle or something. Hard to capture it with video. Is a total recap and reflow of flyback and yoke board recommended? Hate to pump a lot money and...
Yeah me too. Was definitely weird. I could see the darkness around edges when i shut it off, but when it was on it still didnt look inverted like some of the 180’s i had. Could still see the little pixel squares etc even on the side darkness.
