Looks great-- I've been thinking about doing this mod to my Mystic.  I'll probably recap the Analog Board while I'm at it. How readable is the screen at that resolution? Have you thought about overclocking the CPU? There's a mod for that as well-- Mine runs at 36 MHz.

The vertical lines are most likely an open trace to IC UE8. You'll need a meter to check continuity. Check the traces from UE8 to UC6 and UC7.  Specifically VID0 to VID7

I've seen these Mac II Bus Master Cards pop up on eBay, and wondered what this card would be used for.  I never saw one of these cards in any Mac II I ever worked on, so when were they typically used?  AFAIK, bus mastering had to do with multiple devices on the bus staring DMA transactions /...

I have the original extended keyboard for my Mac IIx. All the keys are good, but I can't figure out how to turn on the Num Lock or Scroll Lock and get the light to come on... I've tried a bunch of combinations with the shift, option and command keys. The LED's a good.  What are the key...

Thanks, I didn't even remember that program anymore....  it's been so long since I ran DOS, I almost have to start over. That jumper could be for adjusting the clock as you mentioned. I have to check again, but I think the trace from the jumper goes to pin 39 of the 80287, which is labeled...

I'm still running DOS 3.3.  Guess I could upgrade to DOS 6, but trying to stay 80's vintage correct.

I'm looking for the settings for a 3 pin jumper next to the 80287 math co-processor socket. It is labeled J4. My guess is it enables the co-processor. I have a 80287 in mine but I'm not sure how to tell if it is being recognized.

I would start with a recap.  Pull the main board, clean it and look for any damaged traces around the caps. Then remove each cap and clean thoroughly around it, recap and replace the battery.

I used to have a Novy Quik30 in my SE way back-- I remember the sound issues, but I thought they fixed those by version 5.35.

There's a user here--  @trag that sells cap kits for both. I think they are $10 a set shipped. The caps are tantalum surface mounts. Mouser will charge $7.99 just for shipping. Check the trading post, there's a pinned thread there with his e-mail address.

I haven't done much testing yet, but it seems to be about the same speed as a PC/AT.

My Mac IIx is alive. It's running System 6.0.8 on a Quantum 230MB hard drive with a Radius Precision Color 24x and an Orange Micro Mac 286 with DOS 3.3. Recapped the logic board and power supply and added a battery board.
