    Last battery

...which is why I say it is ok to use machines with batteries in them. Some think these things will blow up "any minute", but I am sure that changing them within 10 years or something would be fine.

Looking for an analog video input PCI card that will work with 2008 Mac Pro

Gosh these things are expensive! Not sure if they have any 20-some odd year old ones laying around!

    PCI-E, yes....sorry I didn't specify properly.

Looking for an analog video input PCI card that will work with 2008 Mac Pro

Yeah, I could run that or a FW one, but I was just looking for something internal.

Looking for an analog video input PCI card that will work with 2008 Mac Pro

Just as described in the title. I am looking to see if there are any Mac PCI cards that will work with OS X ~10.6 with analog RGB and/or S-video input jacks that can capture/record video to a 2008 Mac Pro. Do any such cards exist?

The hakko is a good choice. Just what I have used for years.

Perhaps the drive cannot vary its rotational speed. Only thing I can think of. I’d love that capability. I have a SuperDisk that I got brand new with my iMac in 98. Just sits in its box waiting for a use…

How do you use the SuperDrive? I didn’t know the AppleSauce could accept USB input?

You need an actual AppleSauce device with an external 800k or 1.4MB drive connected to it. They can be purchased for ~$100.

If you read in the manual (which I also have), they would send you a copy of the original if your machine did not support their new color version....if you begged them! My disks somehow became lost. I need to find a copy, too.

I’ve had alkaline AAs and the sort go bad in weeks even, agree. Never seen these do that. Everyone’s experience may vary.

Picked up a few macs, don't know where to start

Here's my thought: these machines ran for 20+ years without battery explosions. It is not like there was some massive recall in the 90s because of SEs being rendered unusable because of battery explosions. If you put a new one in there, it won't blow tomorrow. It will likely be twenty years...

LOL wouldn't that just be the case?? Yes, you could use it as a standalone with the dock.

I had a feeling. If you don’t wind up needing it, I’d pay good money for the 2300c. The one I have had since it was new has needed a new screen for over twenty years!
