Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
You are already running the latest version of 10.4! Apple's OS numbering goes 10.4.8, 10.4.9, 10.4.10, 10.4.11, etc.
Generally, later version provide bug fixes and general improvements, so it's usually worth updating.
Why don't you just start your own IRC channel? It's really easy! Just connect to a network (we use irc.freenode.net) and then join the channel of your choosing. This can be anything (for example #macteens) and f there's no one else in it (and it hasn't been registered previously) then the first...
That isn't a graphics card, it's part of the Quadra/LC/Performa 63x/64x DOS card. It plugs into the LC-PDS slot and a short ribbon cable goes from the internal connector to the main board of the DOS card. All that card provides is a game port and I doubt it would work without the rest of the DOS...
If it's running OS X, then see this page:

You need to have an OS X CD (it shouldn't matter which version, but the same version that is on the machine would be best). If you don't, there's a way to do it through single user mode... but I can't find the article...
What software are you using? I know wget has a mode where it can mirror a site... that might work. It's what I used to create the Old Forum Archive [:)] ]'>
Just let me know which threads you think should be stickified and I'll get to it. To be honest, I don't read through every topic on the forum, so if you're wanting my attention then a simple PM is better than anything!
However, we also have the 68kMLA Wiki which would be a great place to write...
According to the DayStar site, the 12" upgrade only went up to 1.67GHz and the 17" to 1.83GHz. However, the 15" could be upgraded all the way to 2.0GHz!

Must be a browser thing rather than a computer thing... Firefox & Camino slows to a crawl with them all on the screen on my 2.4GHz C2D iMac, while Safari handles it without a problem.
Edit: Opera seems to handle them fine too [:)] ]'>
Right, I've added a PowerPC PowerBook/iBook section...
There will always be a split on the forums between the 68k purists who think even the PPC stuff should be spun off into another board entirely, and those who think we should have forums for everything. It's not going to be possible to...
I wouldn't call it a reorganising -- more just a simple renaming. The forums have always been organised in that way, it just wasn't implicitly noted in the titles. If you notice the PowerBook forum is in the section "68k Model Forums".
As LCGuy said, topics about PPC 'Books go in the relevant...
To quote the little bit of text under the forum:
This is the 68k PowerBook section... I guess the title of this forum was a little ambiguous, so I've updated it.
That's the problem with quiet forums like this one... topics stay on the front page for a LONG time. For example, the topic at the bottom of the front page of this forum was last updated nearly a year ago! Since people rarely check the dates before they post... well... this happens [:o)] ]'>
