In Fetch, go to preferences and be sure to set your buffer size to the appropriate amount for your speed. Otherwise it will be slower than potential, or choke up.

You could also look for a Powerlogix. They are very tweakable. I can run my rated @400 anywhere from 200-450 just using the supplied CPU multiplier switches on the upgrade. It needed a better heatsink and fan to run at 450, but it runs like a champ. Someday, I hope to find one of the 1.1 GHz ones.

I bought a nice 133x Kingston CF card for my WS. 133x is faster than most of the pre-G4 portables can do. It usually maxes the bus on my WS, plus was only $30 something for a 16GB.

Good point nary. I always use OT and end up assuming everyone else does too. Dimitris, if you are using MacTCP and want to use OT, go to find file and search for "selector". This will give you the network software selector. Choose OT from the list and follow my above instructions.

Go to your TCP/IP control panel and ensure it is set to ethernet. Then, either use DHCP or type the manual info for your network.

They also have OS 9. ;)
