I get about 2 hours from the MBP, but I notice that in System Profiler it reports it as having half the capacity it's rated for. The MBA varies on how hard I push it, but if I'm just doing word processing I can get six or so hours out of it (original was only rated for 5 hours 'wireless web'...
As a general rule, a louder fan moves more air. So the quieter the fan, the less air it's going to move. I'd pick more cooling over less noise, personally.
Not in my PPC stuff, my 12" AlBook and my 14" iBook have working OEM batteries. I do have a cheap China special in my MBP and a Newertech in my MBA though.
Yeah, but I'm not sure if it's the card or the socket, and mine was damaged by the PO in a take apart, so I really don't want to pull it apart again. Frustrating as I stuck an mSATA card inside too.
If you have a more modern OS X machine(or have OS X on your QS) I find NCX to be more stable than NCU. You can still get the Keyspan driver to work as well, I've used it under Lion with no issues.
