People... I really have doubts on it. If one puts a board in a dish washer, even with heating off, how will that *ever* completly dry out again? I guess the water will be really everywhere, even on places where there is no chance of drying by air, under IC's and Chips f.e. Did anybody ever did...

But running a TV or Monitor without a case imposes more danger then just a computer. But I wouldn't be afraid to run one on controlled circumstances. One doesn't HAVE to touch any copper pieces on a switched on monitor, is it? [:D] ]'>

It just virtualized like an OS in Parallels or VMWare. So... the whole Mac OS Classic incl. it's applications run as one UNIX process if I am right. :-x

Hey... If a Mac SE shows his Happy Mac and switches then to the blinking question symbol, this just means 'No System' right? Could one suspect him the function otherwise normal (besides that his disk drives may not function)?

The horrible disk swapping was a known bug, so don't hit them they did fix it ;)

Sure. The thing is... if a user wants to use it as desktop operating system, and feels comfortable doing that, she should! I would call myself hobby programmer, but I'm just.. how is that called.. if you get too much stuff. splended? and just want things beautiful, and easy, but open to access...

I use Linux where it, in my opinion, belongs. On servers. It really, really wasn't meant for Desktop usage such as Mac OS X is, and KDE or Gnome do not *really* make it any better.

:-/ I am sorry.. I think I cannot be of help here. Maybe....... You got another Mac capable of booting 8.5/8.6? You may could place your HD to it and try the Updater there (I guess it doesn't boot right now? does it?)

Testing... I'm learning Classic Mac OS Toolbox programming and Carbon programming, as a hobby which *could* be helpful on realworld projects as well (port old software f.e.). And besides that I think that Mac OS 7's interface is just the most beautiful ever :b&w: . I have the sourcecode...
