My Sawtooth (500mhz, 1.75gb, 10.5.4) never has free RAM.
Let me explain.
It is running Leopard, apache, mysql, and TorrentFlux (Python).
When I first boot the machine, 1.5GB of RAM is available. If I sit and watch it on 'top' or Activity Monitor, free RAM steadily decreases by about 5-10mb...
Thanks for the link -- I guess what I'm really asking is:
Can I put this

I'm possibly interested in upgrading the CPU in my Sawtooth (500mhz now).
I don't want to buy one of the 3rd party upgrade cards -- I'd prefer to buy a stock CPU that was pulled when it's original machine was upgraded or parted out for price reasons.
My question is, since the Sawtooths max'ed...
I just found a really cool booklet (even cooler to me as I'm a graphic design major) in great condition entitled
"Guidelines for Using the Apple Logo, Signatures, and Corporate Typeface"
It's exactly what it says - design guidelines for the apple trademarks.
It starts with a cool history of...
one thousand (as an American, I was confused by your use of a period (1.000) as we use a comma (1,000) for whatever reason) is far too much for a 128k Mac as far as im concerned - unless maybe there's something very special about it.
Well, the portable won't boot. I know it has something to do with their notoriously weird "I won't boot without a charged battery" behavior -- but I have yet to find any real instructions online on how to get around it. Any ideas?
Yep -- figured out those mysteries this afternoon when I went rummaging through. The Duo has a "broken" hinge (looks to be just a cosmetic problem) but the Portable is in beautiful shape. Haven't gotten a chance to boot it, unfortunately, espescially since (I think) it only takes 800k disks.
Okay, I picked this up today, and I am crazy stoked. There were several surprises. Here's the list:
PowerMac 6100 in original box
This doesn't have a hard drive, and I haven't opened it up to see what kind of RAM/etc it has. The guy mentioned it has an "A/V card". We shall see what that is...
Nice! Gotta love that -- probably got excluded from many search results because of the misspelling. My lombard was $80, and I thought that was a good deal!
