Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Over the weekend I picked up a Macintosh 512k ED which has been gutted and unfortunately had the handle chopped out as it had previously been converted to be used as a Macquarium!!! :O
Anyway, I still bought it (read: saved it) for $65 8-o which is obviously a lot of cash for a very dead...
Nice find really, however I've never liked the 7100's case plus all the ones I've owned seemed to have rust going on. What's this one like?
P.S. here's what you could do with all your iMacs :p
Flower Power iMac on ebay US. Won for $150 with a postage estimate for a further $150.
Turns out postage was going to be $350 alone so we both said "stuff that!!!"
Also, missed out on a 1975 Ford Fairmont XB wagon a few years ago. Was a very rare banana blush colour, two-way electric tailgate...
Yeah they're really weird designs, aren't they!
The Flower Power has a blue Apple on top and a pink one on the back. They're both clear really but have a coloured plastic backing glued to them (unlike all the other coloured Apple logos which are actually coloured).
Nice scores there.
My jaw drops at the thought of 15 flower power and blue dalmatian iMacs actually existing in one spot...
If you can grab me one (flower power) I'll give you $300 for one if you'd ship it to me!
Thanks for the positive responses everyone, as you can all tell, I'm very pleased with myself...
The Blue Dalmatian is actually now my second one... I was lucky enough to find it advertised locally and how could I say no to another at only $50! My first BD iMac is in excellent condition also...
This long weekend gone I managed to get myself the following:
Blueberry 350MHz iMac - working
Blueberry 400MHz iMac - not working
Snow 500MHz iMac - untested
Flower Power 600MHz iMac - working
Dalmatian 500MHz iMac - working
all for a total of $200 (which I think is pretty good)!
The Snow...
Just re-soldered a whole bunch of joints on the ED, as well as fiddled with R56 - no luck though. Oh well, I should have kept one of my "spare" Mac Plus for the analogue board...
Opened up the Macintosh ED yesterday evening (haven't bothered "testing" it yet as I wanted to check it visually first). Was sold to me as "defective" anyway.
It's got a fair amount of dust inside, moderately greasy dust too! I will strip it down and clean it eventually...
On inspecting the...
I was sold this one as "not working" due to the checkerboard so it will also need a re-cap. Cosmetically it's in excellent condition though (minus a small scratch on the front). It also has a very textured finish - more so than my others, but then again it's dated 1992 which I think makes it the...
