Yay! That worked. Thank you. One thing I noticed is if I turn on the math option I get a System bomb as soon as I do anything. I'll have to take a look at the accelerator to see if it has the coprocessor. You'd think if it didn't that the option would be greyed out.

Well that was weird. I ditched CD Sunrise as well as the CD Driver that comes with OS 7.5, and installed the newer one (5.3.1) from OS 7.6 and it recognized the drive no problem. So apparently OS 7.5 doesn't work with Apple SCSI CD drives???

Ya that was it. Put in another HD and it booted fine. That sucks.....really, really hard. As the drive I had was an Adtronic SSD someone else sold me - apparently they go for over $1000. Now it's a paperweight after only having used it a couple times. Typical. :disapprove:

So I swapped the logic board and memory, rom into another se/30 and it boots fine. But the hard drive from the system having problems into the working se/30 system and it hangs at the welcome to mac screen. So it appears to be the hard drive. But it's weird that it hangs. No system bomb error...

Yes it hangs at the Welcome to Macintosh screen. But it doesn't matter what hard drive I try in it - from other working SE/30's....and it doesn't matter if I try booting with an OS 7.5 boot floppy. Same result.

Seems like everytime I fire up one of these systems something fails. Guaranteed.... The latest is a working system put in storage for a couple months that now won't boot.....you get the happy Mac....Welcome to Macintosh screen and then nothing. Doesn't matter if I boot off a floppy or the hard...

What was your base OS? I'm trying to do the same thing, but I can't get OS 7.0.1 to install (which is what the instructions says to have installed (or 7.1)). System Picker also isn't working (doesn't find a system folder).

I set the search depth to the maximum (5). I'm using 1.1a3.

The disk was from an image, not the original. When it boots off of it, it gets to the Desktop but displays a System Bomb icon, but no text anywhere on the screen. If I put in my 7.5 Install disc everything works fine.

Ok I'll try that method. With System Picker, when I run it the four folder graphic cycles through for a few seconds and then stops. I assumed then it didn't find anything.

Ok so I received the Rev 2 version of the Stratos adapter. Plugged it in and same thing. Beeps but then I get the simasimac pattern. Bottom line, despite what Artmix says, you cannot use this adapter with a MacCON connector. Period. :(
