That's what I was thinking, but don't these things have about 16 MB VRAM (MacTracker says 8 or 16 MB)? Isn't the VRAM soldered to the board as well? I don't see why 4 MB DIMM will help with anything... Unless I'm missing something.
I successfully upgraded my iMac G3/350 to an iMac G3/600. It used to have 9.2.1 on a 6 GB HDD. Now, it's Jaguar with 9.2.(2?) for classic. The supplies (mobo, mystery DIMM which I will need help identifying later, HDD) had been given to me by someone who had a Tray Loading "Life Savers" /333 mHz...
I actually can't quite tell, I'm suddenly thinking you might be right. Huh.
Even when I manage to get this thing open, I'll still need your help on getting the FD clean - What to touch and what not to touch. You know, all of that fun stuff ^^
I find it strange that they wouldn't replace all of...
8-o Good job getting them from :simasimac: to :) . One day, maybe I'll be able to do that kind of magic.
Also, congrats to the entire army for 15,000 posts on the Compact Mac forum.
I tried that, and I'd continue to do it but it's annoying the people living with me. I might try it more later when nobody else is around, but in the meantime, are there any other suggestions?
The case is loose on the bottom, as it has been for a while. It's just the top that needs, uh, pushing/pulling.
(By the way, as for Mountain Lion, so far so good.)
So I have an SE/30.
It's FD is dirty and I want to upgrade its RAM. BUT whoever had it last was a real idiot not to replace the screws, instead gluing it back together.
So, my conundrum is, what do I do? I've already made the case ugly by trying to pry it open. Should I just bash the case in...
Wow. 8-o
Well, back on topic!
I do play a few games on my SE every now and then. I have all of the System 6 Hell games on disks, and a few others as well.
Homework, and the occasional MacTalker sentence.
I also force a bomb error to happen by attempting to save MacTalker settings, if I'm feeling masochistic.
Also, even though i'm kinda new, the last post on the above thread was on the 30th of March. Is it not usually rude to necro topics?
384 MB of ram is a respectable amount for a machine that age, right? OS9 works well with even about 200MB, in my experience.
(Yes, i'm new. Hello community!)
