    A/UX - Replacement 3.1 Update CD?

Hmmm, yes. I wasnt going to apply that - I'd read on the interweb that it has quite a performance hit on the SE/30 - but I suppose I have no base of reference anyway, so maybe it doesnt matter. I dont suppose you've ever used it (3.1.1) on an SE/30 and have a view on its worth vs impact?

    A/UX - Replacement 3.1 Update CD?

Sir, You are a legend and I applaud you. I was blinded by the Finder, but now I see that this is UNIX. I found a folder called "Unix Files" copied the contents across to my /tmp directory and ran the included script. While it was running that, I used the finder to copy across to the "Mac"...

    A/UX - Replacement 3.1 Update CD?

Well, I'd settle for some skills full stop :) Yes, it looks like it gets pretty much the whole way through, then complains that the touchsec (I think) file is corrupt so rolls everything back. Its a pretty quick install and I havent done anything with it yet, so I may as way have a poke at it...

MRJ 2.0 SDK for Download anywhere?

Hi All, I believe the 2.0 SDK is the last that will run on the 68k Macs. I can find 2.1 on the apple download site, but can confirm that this wont install / run on a 68k machine :) Anyone know where I can get a copy of 2.0? Cheers,

    A/UX Network based install?

Doh! Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely try to get an Apple one then (this could take a while). Cheers,

    A/UX Network based install?

Thanks Guys, Yeah, no IIxyz's to try and build on instead so it looks like I need to find an old external SCSI CD-ROM drive. Oh well, probably handy to have one of those anyway (too bad I got rid of all mine all those years ago!). Cheers,

    A/UX Network based install?

Hi, I have the A/UX media and an SE/30 to install on, but no external SCSI CDROM drive to connect to my SE/30. Is it possible to perform a network based install of A/UX if I mount the CD on another machine and share it via AppleTalk? I had a quick look at the FAQ but it didnt specifically...

Apple Legacy CD - Now available for download!

I downloaded it on my windows box and WinZip extracted the .dmg no problem. I havent done anything with the .dmg yet however, as I dont have a OS X box, but thats a problem for next week (unless google tells me I can use a .dmg on a 68k Mac running 7.5.3).

    Gearing Up for Summer

Seems like endurance might be the in thing this time round. Must be something in the water because I was thinking that I might try to do all of my recreational computing (media centre PC doesnt count right) on my old 128k Mac, connected to the interweb via my PC and Retro-net.org for the...

Why no Contiki for Mac 68K?

I agree that if possible (and practical) this would be a better approach than porting say contiki. As you say tho, the issue is likely to be around how much free RAM is available once done, specifically for additional applications to be loaded to take advantage of this new IP stack. Having said...

Why no Contiki for Mac 68K?

So, in summary, should work, but no one knows how to do it and anyone that could possibly figure it out, isnt interested (fair enough). Bugger.

Why no Contiki for Mac 68K?

Hmm, if I read that right your suggesting making something that looks like MacTCP so that apps that are already coded for MacTCP will work with little (or no) modification? I guess that could work for more powerful Mac's than the original 128K - but not the 128K, just because I assume most of...

Why no Contiki for Mac 68K?

I'm assuming that because it doesnt exist (from my quick googling) this would be quite a major piece of work? Imagine being able to get an original 128K Mac onto the internet (more or less) natively. Of course, being of a non-programming type inclination its easy for me to sit back and muse...

    Captain Magneto - Apple III

Hi, I used to love Captain Magneto on my 128k Mac and recently discovered that there seems to have been a port of it to the Apple III - unfortuantely I dont have an Apple III or a Mac (on which I can run SARA the Apple III emulator) to check out the Apple III version - I'm really interested to...
