    My first big Conquest!

I'm back! And let my just say... I hit the motherlode! Filled the trunk of my Dad's 2011 Impala. I am flat out pooped... but let me just say, I have TONS of stuff now. Systems, keyboards, mice, accelerator cards, memory, hard drives, floppy drives, etc.

    Dead Mac Classic

Gotta be careful with those batteries. The one in my SE/30 was original, and when I pulled it out, it had a bulge near the positive terminal. Any longer and it probably would have leaked. I ruined 2 486 motherboards with CMOS batteries... they were the shrink wrapped type that look like they...

    second iMac G4

The artifacts are most likely the GPU separating from the logic board. I've noticed it's starting to become very common in the G4 iMacs.

    I am happy to report.....

....That my 5500/250 is alive and well! The transplant was a success. Big thanks to johnklos for the 6500/275 logic board! Pic - (Cell phone... can't find my camera) Yes, the time is wrong. I still need to get a battery, but the little box ones are expensive.

    My new (to me) SE/30!

It's in pretty good shape aside from the crack on top, but I could care less about the crack. And it's not yellowed at all... I'm thinking it might have been retr0brited at one time.

    My new (to me) SE/30!

Here she is! I am so excited to finally have an SE/30. Not only that, but I got it at a great price. I've been wanting one since I first used one in 1997 in 3rd grade to play various games at recess. At the time, I thought it was cool because it was small and that it had a black and white...

    Memory steal!

Well, I don't think he's going to take them back, and I don't think I want to deal with the eBay and PayPal dispute crap. I'll probably end up keeping them. On the bright side I did just get 4 x 4MB SIMMs for $12. If I keep the others, I'll just do 4 x 4MB and 4 x 1MB.

    Memory steal!

Yup! It seems that all google searches say that these are in fact 1MB SIMMs... sigh. Hopefully the seller will return them, even though he says no returns. Well... he'd have to.. they were incorrectly described. I'd like to return them, but to be honest, it might be impossible to find 8 4MB...

    Memory steal!

Oh no. Please don't tell me that! The white stickers say - MCM91000AS70 Screwed again? I swear, I have the worst luck in the world!

    Memory steal!

Picked these up on eBay - 8 x 4MB Viking brand (Motorola chips) modules.....got them for a nice price with free shipping. Should make a nice amount of memory for the SE/30.

Lucky... our Goodwills refuse to accept computers.

Some free games and a SCSI floptical drive

Our county recycling center sucks. They will not let you pick through anything, even if you try to bribe them with $$. That, and they can't do it either because they will be charged with theft of "County Property". It even says on the wall "All items dropped off at the recycling center become...

How to change the FSB on a MDD

The Dual 1.42 had the copper heatsink, the rest were the thick aluminum or thin aluminum ones.

    My Latest ...

Man! Where do you guys find this stuff? I can't find ANYTHING older than a G3 or G4 around here. I've had my eyes glued to every site around here looking for a IIfx.

    DOA G4/DA/466 = ATX shenanigans . . .

Switch over to an ATX for sure. I haven't done mine yet... it's still sitting in the closet.

    DOA G4/DA/466 = ATX shenanigans . . .

Power supply is dead. The non-working DA 466 I got for free was the same way. No response whatsoever from it. I took apart the supply to find 3 resistors fried...nothing else looked bad. I replaced them and all 3 fried as soon as I plugged the power cord in the wall.
