I’m putting together an optional SE/30 between two sub-optimal units and I discovered that one has a yellow HDD LED and the other had a red one (see pic).
Does anyone know which one is the earlier? Any other considerations regarding this?
Does anyone know of if one of these two SE/30 logic board revisions is better than the other? I’m trying to decide which one to keep.
I do like the early one better with the light green PCB and the purple and gold socketed processor, it has what seems to be a factory bodge wire though, anyone...
I managed to solve it - there was a Netscape installer file in the Preferences folder in the System Folder. After deleting it I could save preferences - which saves across Netscape versions btw. I’m directing the browser to MacProxy on the PiSCSI.
I’m having trouble saving preferences and bookmarks for Netscape Navigator, same issue on both 2.02 and 3.01. I’m on System 7.1, Quadra 700. Any ideas how to resolve this?
thanks @cheesestraws and @Daniël, I’ll be on the lookout for an AUI dongle or an additional breakout board - worst case scenario I’ll try to make an AAUI to AUI adapter myself.
Ok, thanks - I have a bunch of M0437 AAUI transceivers, is it only the connector that is different or are there other differences that would prevent them from working with this?
I recently got hold of a DaynaPort E/SI30 card to use in my Macintosh SE/30. As seen in the picture, the coaxial side is populated but not the RJ45 side.
Are there any good adapters to connect RJ45 cables for networking to the coaxial connector?
I guess populating the RJ45 side of the card is...
I’ve looked a bit closer into this and according to the serial number decoding the older was made in week 34 of 1984 (August) - isn’t that just before the 512k was launched? I guess it could have been manufactured just before official launch date. One decoding site specifies it as 512k but the...
thanks, interesting. Makes sense to mark non-US voltage if made in the US, as stated on label. Would that be European 128k then? Assuming 512k would be M0001WP/M0001WD?
I recently got a Quadra 700 and I’m planning to replace the PSU fan with a silent Noctua. I found in the specifications of the original fan that it has an extraction rating of 43,86m³/h and noise 19dB.
The Noctua Redux (grey) series have extraction ratings (1200 RPM, 35.8m³/h, 9.1dB; 1800 RPM...
