I liked my iBook G3 while it worked. The dreaded GPU issue is now showing it's ugly head. I thought about repairing the mobo, but the hinge is also bent. Being a G3 I will more than likely replace it with an iBook G4 12" if I can find a good unit for a good price. However that is months down...

I like the paneling, and the printer is a great add-on. As is the retro looking stereo gear (I assume) off the left side of the photo.

I have about 6 ADB keyboards and Mice. I get them for free a lot of the time. If you need them they can easily be found on freecycle, at least in my area.

Did they even make 8MB 30pin SIMM's? That would have been an ungodly amount per stick back in the day. Not too mention very expensive. I once paid $300 for a 4MB stick.

You need those fans. Get them. NOW. Unless you like roasted G5 for dinner. Also you can use an older Rage128 or any other Mac compatible PCI card just for testing purposes. I used my old ixMicro card in my G5 (now sold) to test the machine before I bought it and it worked great.

Ah the 604e CPU. How I loved it. It was designed to be a man's chip in a world of girlie CPU's. Like all things that make me happy, it suffered an unfortunate and untimely death at the hands of youth and beauty. God I loved the 604. Good thing I have my 8600/604/300Mhz Tower.
