Apple Pro Mouse in ADB style housing

That is excellent. I have no doubt there would be a market for it! :D

    Looking for a Game...Barney Killer

Barney Carnage it is, but be warned. It played fine on my LC, but on my 333 iMac it was way too fast! The little evil Barneys zipped by too fast for me to nail them. :p

not really a conquest, more of a PowerBook sighting

Last year I was looking at real estate for sale and in one of the free multiple listings magazines was an ad for looking for homes online and the illustration featured a 100 series PB, it was partially covered so I couldn't tell which one. The apple and trackball and teeny screen were easy to...

    Went to the rummage sale

Every year in Portland (since the 1930s or so?) Catlin Gable School holds a humongous rummage sale as a fundraiser. It's huge. It ends tomorrow at 1 PM. I didn't buy the fine Wallstreet for $75 or one of the Pluses for $10, neither did I buy the "Dos on a Mac" in the box or any of the iMacs. I...

    Lombard & Tangerine

Why do all that work when you can use a PCMCIA card to decode DVDs? Or were you planning to go OSX all the way? I know that won't work on X, just OS9....

    Toasted Bunnies and Snail

Think "A Christmas Story". Remember what Ralphie got from his aunt, and his mother made him wear? That was a bunny suit. I am pretty sure that's the kind of bunny suit the work garb was named after.

    Upgrading Office

I was thinking more in terms of using Office 98 as a jumping-off point for moving up to newer versions, rather than getting the "best" Office 98. Perhaps Office 2001 or something even more recent. I will browse Micro$oft to see what I can see...

    Upgrading Office

Will be getting legitimate original Microsoft Office 98. How upgradeable is it?

    old games in OS X

I can still play Columns in Classic with 10.4.9, which is pretty good considering it has a date on it of 1989.

    G3 AIO

$30.00 is not too much. It was originally only sold to schools and I think it was all in one piece and therefore heavy because they didn't want the munchkins moving components around. Look at all the Performas and stuff like that that were all in one. And all the iMacs in schools. It's simpler...

    iMac G3 in new case...

Inside the box/case from an old portable record player. In a hatbox. Replace the innards of an old oscilloscope. In a first aid kit case.

Recording Problems With My Trusty Lombard

I knew the Lombard had a built-in microphone, so I checked my repair manual and it says it has "built-in microphone and speakers as well as a line-level stereo input jack and a stereo headphone jack". So that answers that question. [:)] ]'> I guess that leaves a new cable.

Recording Problems With My Trusty Lombard

I asked somebody at work who knows more about sound equipment than I do, and it turns out that (a) the cable jacks have only one little stripe on them rather than two and that means it is a mono cable and ( B) apparently mono input on a stereo device will usually stick with the left side. I...

Recording Problems With My Trusty Lombard

I posted this question on the Apple forums and have been soundly ignored. Obviously I should have tried here first. I wanted to use Coaster or something like that to record into my Lombard on 9.2. I got a cable that goes from one source (headphone jack) to another (microphone jack). I tried...

    switching to os 9?

I don't know about being limited with OS 9. I use it all the time on my Lombard with 9.2 and Wamcom Mozilla, with a wireless card. I find it was much more limiting to be on dialup rather than DSL, than the Lombard versus the iMac G5 with Tiger. I have not found 9 to be buggy or prone to locking...
