Building a Spotify player for my Mac SE/30

@just.in.time That looks like the same package I used. Do you know if your GL-AR300M is the cheaper version with Nor Flash memory, or the better one with Nand memory? (models are here) Mine is the cheaper GL-AR300M16-Ext which uses Nor memory. The reason I mention it is because in the OpenWRT...

    Wifi Extension Development Thread

@Michael_b @10001001sos I just did a quick test via the Network Software Selector to switch from Open Transport to MacTCP - and I was able to replicate the problem. And I was using system 7.5. So I don't think it's to do with System 7.1 but MacTCP - I'm looking into it. In regard to some sites...

    Wifi Extension Development Thread

Hey @Michael_b thanks for the info, that's great that you got the extension running on an iMac! I've not been able to test that. I'll need to do some testing on System 7.1, or perhaps add some diagnostics / logging so we can see what's happening on your Mac. I'm also wondering if it's MacTCP vs...

    Mac SE/30 SCSI problem

Thanks @Crutch for posting the link to the schematics - they were indispensable.

Help needed with SE/30, Daystar Turbo + Ethernet Card

I finally resolved this problem - it was the logic board. After repairing another logic board I had, both the Daystar Turbo and the Ethernet card work together without issue. Happy Days.

    Mac SE/30 SCSI problem

I FIXED IT!!! THANK YOU @Bolle! I started checking each connection, and I re-checked them on a known working board to ensure I was doing it correctly. I eventually found IOW on the SCSI chip was not connecting with the GLU chip, but it was connecting fine on my working board. I soldered a wire...

    Mac SE/30 SCSI problem

Thank you @Bolle and @Crutch. The Mac can boot from the floppy. I'll check out the schematics and test every pin. I also have cap damage near the chip so I'm thinking that's where my problems lie. I'll let you know how I go.

    Mac SE/30 SCSI problem

Hi all, not sure if anyone is still following this thread but I'm hoping for some advice. I have an SE/30 motherboard with dead SCSI (both internal and external). I've checked for continuity between all of the pins in the IDC header and the 53C80E SCSI chip - they are all good. I've also...

Fun with colour on my SE/30

Not yet unfortunately - life has been too busy. However I did receive some more resin & rubber in the mail to make a new mold of the CRT screen - I'm going to try including the mounting tabs from the original CRT so that the LCD can easily and cleanly mounted inside the Mac. I'll just need...

    Another Turbo 601 / SE/30 Failure Report

Thanks for all the info, however I can't help but feel like my problems are more low-level. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but zebra stripes at startup would indicate a hardware or ROM issue? There is no disk access, so I don't think any software that I install will make a difference. Am...

I'll also say this - running the 601 in my SE/30 for even a few minutes and it's almost too hot to touch!

    Another Turbo 601 / SE/30 Failure Report

@nickpunt I added the jumper and tried the 601 again - but alas I had the same outcome. I tried with both a IIsi and IIfx ROM. Again I got the PowerPC boot chime with the IIfx, but got no further. @Crutch  @360alaska I also looked for HDD activity, but no joy :( But some good news is that I...

Daystar Universal PowerCache P33 in SE/30

Hi all, I tried adding the jumper to my Twinspark to see what effect it had on my Daystar Turbo 040 - I was blown away by the improvement! The MacBench scores speak for themselves. Below I tested my SE/30 with a Daystar Turbo - one with the Jumper and one without: But scores aside, the whole...

    Another Turbo 601 / SE/30 Failure Report

Thanks everyone for all your comments and ideas. @nickpunt the thread you shared looks really interesting, I just need to find myself a paperclip so I can try it out! I'll keep you posted.

    Another Turbo 601 / SE/30 Failure Report

Thanks @TPope yes it appears the elusive IIsi PDS adapter is the missing piece of the puzzle. I'd love to know what this adapter does that the Twinspark doesn't! I'd also like to see at least some shred of evidence that anybody has ever got a 601 working in their SE/30? I know it'd been...

No I only have a IIvx adapter, but that belonged to a Turbo 040 - I'm not sure if they are compatible.

    Another Turbo 601 / SE/30 Failure Report

I know a few other people have tried getting a Daystar Turbo 601 working in their SE/30, but I thought I'd share my experiences. I tried installing a 100mhz Turbo 601 in my SE/30 using a Twinspark Adapter. I experimented with various ROM's using the BMOW ROM Simm Programmer and here's the...

    Wifi Extension Development Thread

It's strange that you can access some websites but not others. It must be related to DNS and MacTCP - perhaps someone else here can provide some ideas? You could also try hitting some websites via IP address to confirm that it's a DNS issue or not. In regard to the MacWifi Extension, are you on...
