These ultra or supercaps are pretty cool alright, had been playing around with them a bit some time ago.
They are indeed used as backup instead of batteries and would seem ideal, but here are a few things to consider:
- they are low voltage components and most of them only work up to about...
Before you install an OS be aware of the limitations of accessing low level hardware directly. From Win2000 on most hardware can't be accessed directly unless you want to write a device driver. So if you want to program the parallel port, use something like Win98 or you will need to get a 3rd...
Hi,
there seems to be a lot of corrosion around D8 (component labelled A6, a high speed diode IIRC). I suppose it's time to get the multimeter out and start checking for continuity, shorts, opens etc.
Also is the area in the picture the only place where corrosion took place? Via's are always...
I would say this indicates a power supply issue where the psu is not able to supply enough current and the voltage drops.
Also is there any source of interference / magnetic field near the machine (e.g. large speakers, transmnitter etc)?
Just a thought...
SE and SE/30 use the same logicboard power connector. I have tried this myself with SE and SE/30 analog and logic boards. I have now checked with the Apple Guide to the Macintosh Family Hardware as follows:
Signal assignments for the power and video connector from the analog board
to the...
That doesn't sound good!
I had the same idea some time ago and found this during my research: it's for a Classic not Classic 2. The Classic 2 is 10 pin as well so it must be different, but just for reference:
Mac Classic
What are the pinouts for the internal power connector at location J12 on...
Bought a good few things from that seller and found her very reasonable / professional. Fast shipping and nice contact too.
Sorry to hear you're having problems.
Looks similar to this.

I've had the same problem of moving data to my Compacts and have tried a lot of the suggestions. Most worked but finally I found using an external SCSI CD drive was the best / simplest solution for me. It's fast, hassle-free and works well across different platforms (using at least System 7.1 on...
Never say never...just ask Uniserver...http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22035&start=0.
The logicboard doesn't look too bad actually, no components missing. I would try cleaning it up and assess the damage then.
Weird indeed...There's a couple of dip switches as parallel input to the circuit (the 25 pin connector seems to be used as a ground for the switches!) which are then serially shifted into loads of logic gates, flop-flops, inverters etc and the shifted back into an 8 bit parallel output which is...
Interesting! Looks like someone has wirewrapped a circuit out of what seem like discreet logic chips, there's even some LED's as indicators there. Doesn't look like it's connected to the main bus, just to some connector on the back panel. SCSI maybe (did the NEXT have a 25pin SCSI connector?)...
The 22 is actually correct. There is a 22 Ohm resistor in between so that's OK as well.
I guess you just have to start checking out UG7 and anything it's connected to...bummer!
