Well, I didn't know that stuff inside of the CRT was phosphor, actually. Sh*t, hopefully I didn't pollute too much!
Believe it or not, it all went off easily with hot water, and I finished the job by putting the screen in the dishwasher.
No distortion at all, but still a few issues: the main...
I tried the Dremel diamond-cutting of a CRT front to put over a LCD on my Macminitosh/Macintosh SE/x mod (see thread). It looks great, and is IMHO much better than "over-modding" the case's back.
Hi all,
I thought I'd update this thread, since I've made some heavy modifications to my Macminitosh project, that I considered rebranding under the name "Macintosh SE/x", as said in that thread.
Actally Mac128 got me started in his post above, when he told us about diamond cutting the front...
Now, that's an answer! :) Thank you very much!
Actually, I had Eric Rasmussen's site in my bookmarks for a long time. I just didn't know it had all those detailed information. So, according to the part number (690-5064A), it's the original System 3.0/Finder 5.1 that shipped with early...
Hi all,
I'm following an auction on a swiss eBay-like, from a guy selling an "original Macintosh Plus floppy". The auction can be seen here. Actually, it debuted weeks ago with a starting price of about $50. And the guy keeps reposting it, with nobody ever bidding. Now the start price is about...
Exactly. So did I, did you notice? Actually, I even thought of making a new topic just to tell everybody the good news of the floppy number 8 working after all…
Now, as I said in the other topic, if that floppy image indeed has a bad checksum, all you have to do is to skip the checksum test within Disk Copy. The image mounts just fine.
From the other topic:
I can confirm what slomacuser says. I just try to install 7.5.3 from the floppies images found on the so-called Legacy CD Rar. It went just fine in Mini vMac. Disk Copy does indeed think image #8 has a bad checksum. Then what? Just mount the image and skip the checksum test! It's just that easy...
If calibration doesn't do it, then I'd say the battery's dead. I saw that wit my first gen "BlackBook": one day 85% of full charge capacity, and the next day it shuts off without warning after half an hour. But that one was under a battery recall from Apple, so it was changed by AppleCare.
First I'd suggest you go through a full calibration circle.
The fact that the iBook shuts off without warning nor sleep seems to tell the battery doesn't know what's its charge.
I needed a SE/30 logicboard.
I spotted a SE/30 with no video selling for next to nothing on a local auction site. I won the auction, and bought it for approximately $5 delivered to my home. Good deal.
Except I was quite disappointed when I saw that what the guy advertised as a SE/30 was indeed...
Thanks!
The bottom left one and the right one are the same, only reversed. Since the connector is DB-25 I assumed it was some kind of SCSI, I didn't know that other devices used the same connectors.
Serial, then. Well, too bad I don't know what to do with them! Is there anything useful to do...
Hi all,
In one of my last conquests, I got a box full of cables and adapters. Always useful! In that stuff I found half a dozen of those adapters:
