Power Macintosh 8500 Display + Sounds Issues

Did you first try to reset the PRAM? I don't have a 8500, but it has the same case than the 8200 and 9500, both of which I own. What screws are you talking about? The six securing the back panel to the case? There's no way you can open the machine without unscrewing them…

    I paint my mac

Some kind of huge typo, then! :) But it seems we don't have the same Google: I just tried to translate my sentence, and it gave me "Oh, it's always nice to have around francophones!", which is pretty much what I wrote. Did you choose french to english? Well, let's get back to the subject...

The latest mac build. A Mac Plus/Core 2/Color.

This one is exactly the one i used for my project. It doesn't show on eBay US, I don't know why. Actually, as I said before, it does matter a lot in my opinion. Especially on such a small screen, the native resolution is way better than any re-scaled resolution. I'll make some screenshots on...

Tiens, c'est toujours sympa d'avoir des francophones dans le coin! 8-)

Newbie lost in front of a IIgs

It's an Apple II SCSI card, of which I just the found the manual here. But according to that manual, I have to use software provided with the SCSI peripheral to format and partition it. The disk I intended to use is an old standard 200 Mb formatted in HFS I found a long time ago. Can you...

Newbie lost in front of a IIgs

Thanks! Next question (I haven't tried yet, just wondering): the full GS/OS install is intented to be made on an external hard disk, right? Assuming my SCSI card works (which I haven't tried), will it be ok to format an external 200 Mb SCSI disk, install GS/OS on it and use it to store and...

The latest mac build. A Mac Plus/Core 2/Color.

I agree. 640x480 is unsusable with OS X. Mine's native resolution is 800x600, but it does a pretty good job at upscaling, and 1024x768 displays just fine. But having used both, I switched back to 800x600 with no regret, it's much more legible!

9600: split screen on Tiger installation…

In Bolle's pic it's a 9500, with the same issue I had with my 9600. Look at the completely bare case, it doesn't at all look like the 9600! :)

Newbie lost in front of a IIgs

I do have only a 2 Mb Ram card. I also have what I think is a SCSI card, not installed as of yet. So it should be ok, I hope. Thanks!

Newbie lost in front of a IIgs

Ok, it's time for some feed-back! I finally went further with cleaning those drives, since I recently got a nice Apple ][ Europlus and I needed the IIgs to be working in order to format some ProDOS 5.25'' floppies for it. Well I took both my 3.5'' drives apart, and manged to clean them the best...

9600: split screen on Tiger installation…

An ATI-something that I first found inside my 9500 when I got it. No model name is written on it (besides an ATI branded chip), and I didn't take time to google the model number. But now everything's fine with the 9600's stock Twin Turbo (though both Panther and Tiger do fail during...

Classic II on Network with Asante SCSI Adapter

What's your network software on the Classic? Have you tried setting up OpenTransport 1.1.x? With the Asante adapter it "should" act just as any 68k Mac with ethernet support, so there are (imho) no obvious reason it shouldn't work. I have never seen such an adapter, though. I do network all my...

9600: split screen on Tiger installation…

Exactly! Now I tried with that card in the 9500 and in the 9600 with that same result. It's ok with the 9600's stock Twin Turbo, though. Interesting! Thanks for the picture, it's much easier to see what I was trying to express!

9600: split screen on Tiger installation…

Ok, it was related to the graphic card. I switched back to the original Twin Turbo, and it worked great.

9600: split screen on Tiger installation…

Hi all, Last week I conquered a PM 9600, which I plan to use as my main OldWorld machine instead of my 9500. It has 860 Mb of Ram and a 300 MMz G3 upgrade card, so I bet I could install 10.4 on it just for fun, using XPostFacto. Everything went fine (grey Apple, verbose booting), until the...

    I paint my mac

I love it, it looks really cool! Congrats! And it's a nice touch you didn't kill any « living » Mac, but instead save parts for transplantation. Being an artwork AND an organ donor instead of a rusty piece of crap outside in the rain is what makes that 512K smiling again! :)

    Huge win!

A couple of months ago, I decided to slow down on my conquests. I'm running down on space and time to take care of all that stuff. But there are some times I can't resist. It's been a win week-end! I already told you about the Apple ][ Europlus I got on saturday. Hardly had I time to play a bit...

The latest mac build. A Mac Plus/Core 2/Color.

Hey thanks, you just gave me an idea; when I have some idea I'll try and find one of those letters decal sheet to see if I could label a /X or :x on the front bezel. Could look cool! @nextse7en: How's it going for you? Did you find a solution, or changed your mind on the type of monitor...

The latest mac build. A Mac Plus/Core 2/Color.

Hey, stop kidding! 8-) nextse7en's (thread author) is a Plus, as the title of the thread says. But mine is a SE all the way through it's smallest screws, and you won't be able to prove me wrong! :p And since it's a SE and not a SE/30 case, as you pointed out, and obviously running OS X, I...

    First hand Apple II Europlus!

So, yesterday I drove 190 km and back, and I'm the new proud owner of that Apple ][ Europlus (actually a ][+ without color NTSC video out), a Philips monitor, (only) one Disk ][ drive, two strange looking game controllers, a few floppies and a huge load of books and docs, including the original...
