Well, I looked it up and the closest AASP is in Marietta, which is still a good drive away but a lot more likely a place for my grandpa or aunt to drive me. Ironically, that's the town where I got every single Mac I've ever owned besides the Classic and the MacBook. Huh.
If I take it up there...
Ehh, I guess my ideas are more acquired tastes then, hehe. I just kinda' liked how it all lined up like that. Nametag style looks alright though, I'm more interested in the Compact case. :3
... Maybe you could run the whole name under the screen bezel all in one line though? :B
... I want that.
EDIT: Also, you could center the Apple logo under the drive and the name under the logo. Or have the name under the drive and the logo in the center of the top of the bezel? I kind of like the "name tag" format it's got going now though.
EDIT TWO: And have you considered...
Seriously, someone needs to start an eBay store selling things like that. Aftermarket goodies for reviving a battered, yellowed, cracked, scribbled on or otherwise damaged compact? Yes please! : D
EDIT: It could also reduce the amount of good original shells being used for some of the more...
Oh, it was a CRT. Some kind of monitor they used for voting on a game show, and about period correct too since it was from the early/mid 90's... Hang on.
Oh, so it was black and white. Nevermind. Either way, maybe the model of monitor used here could be a good candidate...
Would be sweet if you sold it as a kit, I'd order one. :3
EDIT: Also, I understand keeping the BW monitor for keeping with the rest of the compact line, but I do remember a case mod that used a color monitor if you'd be interested. I'd like to see it as an option. :p
Oh wow, really? Huh... I'll have to see about that if it is cracked. Sadly the closest Apple store is in Atlanta though, and that's about an hour's drive in horrible traffic and I doubt anyone in my family would drive me. (My car doesn't work right now.)
Oh wow, so much to choose from... If I ever have the money I'm thinking I might order a blue rubber case and a matching sleeve and keyboard for it. Just have to locate the items in the store first... :p
@Uniserver: Well, my plans for XP were to run Need For Speed: High Stakes and Underground as well as Lego Island and the first three Elder Scrolls games, as well as using MSPaint for some game design projects. I'm not sure that'd go to well on some of the more memory sapping games like...
@Uniserver: Well, I offered to pay him back, but he told me to forget about it since I'm saving up to move in with my boyfriend in California. He told me $500 isn't a lot to him.
@Mark: Oh, awesome! Also, can I maybe get a pic or two of what that looks like? Does it still close like it did...
Hey all! A friend of mine bought me an '08 MacBook off of Craigslist last week, and it's supposed to get here sometime between this thursday and next monday. While I do feel a bit odd, this being my first Intel Mac, I'm also grateful for the present, and happy that I'll finally have a laptop...
It's too bad no one makes aftermarket metal chassis for the candied iMacs, I'd love to do a restoration of one where I could make it even stronger and faster than before, but keep the outside appearance of the original thing. It's a beautiful design in my opinion, even if it's kind of bulky, but...
You could pick up both and sell one, that way the other one doesn't just sit outside and get rained on. :c
Personally I'd take the tray loader, but that's because I already have a slot loader Indigo model. Either way, if you pick both up and it turns out the tray loader doesn't work I'd take it...
