Another vote for the Floppy EMU. Once you’ve read the manual it really does “just work” and it’s a beautifully designed and conceived bit of kit. Very happy with mine.

Now that I have my SE booting again (yay!) I'd like to connect it to my Ethernet network.  I have one of these:  2nd pic is the little daughter card that attaches to the back of the SE. Anyone know what it is and where I might find drivers for it? I'm running System 6.0.8.  Cheers, Joel

Thanks to everyone for their contributions on this. I got the Brother, and will have to figure out how to print from classic Macs, for now I will stick with PDF > Sneakernet usb stick into the printer

Thanks for that detailed explanation. Would those solutions work the other way around, allowing say a Mac SE running LaserWriter driver on system 6.0.8 to print to a modern laser printer emulating postscript on a TCP/IP Ethernet network? 

Is there a way of running a software print server on a Mac that will offer AppleTalk based printing to the ethernet network? 

Hi everyone  I need a new colour laser printer. My IT guy is recommending the following - will this work with system 6/7 Macs on the same network running the LaserWriter driver? Not easy to tell  Brother MFC-L8690CDW

are there jumping options? Sometimes setting jumpers to Master can cure odd behaviour.

Apologies if this is a really stupid question but what is the physical interface between my Classic Macs on their LocalTalk network and the Ethernet network? As the pi doesn't have serial port.

They make a *fabulous* MacOS 9 workstation. Super fast. A few things don't work like sleep but that's less important on a desktop. A bit of messing about to get the install done in the first place admittedly
