I know the unsanity shapeshifter program (sometimes worked, sometimes total junk for me) a while back would bog up the system with a crazy theme applied, but what if the theme was like a system 7 theme? Or a bare minimum one. Might make it fast. I don't even know where to find an older version...

My Orinoco Gold (flashed silver) card doesn't work in 10.4 but it does work in OS 9. Are there any cheap cards that will work in 10.4? I don't want to buy the wrong one and it would be of help if someone already has this setup.

Those iBooks had some pretty gnarly video problems, I think the rate of failure was more than 50%. I had a few and they seemed to run hot all the time, probably leading to the crappy cold solder joint problems. You should really get a notebook cooler for it. They are cheap usually.

So I ordered that cable and a working apple 4x scsi cd-rom drive (tray loading). Hopefully this will fix the termination problem and also let me get files from cds. Thanks for helping!
