My cell phone is still an iPhone 6, and with only 16g of memory. The storage is the biggest problem I have with it. If I don't upgrade it soon, I am going to have to replace the battery again before too much longer.
I reassembled my Powerbook 165 after getting its screen recapped (Thanks again JRL!). I had to swap out the keyboard from another powerbook (160) and went ahead and put the larger 10M RAM card from that machine in there as well. Everything is great; it is booting to 7.5.x off the internal 240...
I can't help with locating the driver, but it was neat seing the old LEM list message and Gamba's website here. Spent a lot of time with both back around Y2K; good times. I hope Gamba is looking down from a work station in the sky and having fun tinkering with an old Mac to make it do something...
The Mac version hooks to the ADB port and has a passthrough connector (or a Y cable) to plug your keyboard/ mouse into if you need to. I watched a Youtube video that showed a little joystick that could be screwed into the center of the pad. Mine didn't come with it, but I can't imagine it being...
It seems the only topics on this subforum are repairs. Don't get me wrong, I've posted a query or ten here myself. But I thought I would post something different tonight.
I bought a Gravis Gamepad to use with my SE/30, and have spent the past few nights playing a few games with it. It took me...
So this got me wanting to print with my SE/30, even though I really have no need to. I've got all the files (finally, it wanted quite a few more files than what you had listed at your fileserver?), and I even updated my 7.5.3 to 7.5.5 thinking that may have been an issue. I got the desktop...
So I've been reading about capacitors failing in well, everything Mac made way back when. I see lots of threads (here and elsewhere) about Powerbook 1xx screens needing to be recapped, but I don't see much about the logicboards or anything else under the keys. Are they built with different caps...
My other hobby is playing with Lionel trains. A lot of their diesel engines used a D cell battery to power the horn relay, and a lot of those batteries were left in the trains when Jr. outgrew them. As a result, a lot of Lionel diesels have "battery compartment damage". So, this hobby didn't...
I was just trying to get it to work, as I am going to try this setup in an SE that I am planning on using the PDS slot for an accelerator, so that means no ethernet card.
As for the SCSI2SD, I probably shouldn't jynx myself by saying this, but all my SCSI drives are working fine, so I will...
Isn't that why we all use these archaic machines?
This is a painfully slow method of moving files, about 3 minutes a Mb. I guess it would still be faster than writing a Mb to a floppy and then loading the floppy into another machine. It's slow enough that the SE/30 is able to be used for light...
So I have an SE/30 that has an Asante ethernet card in it and 32 Meg of RAM and a 1 Gig HD (a real SCSI drive that still works). Thisafternoon the last iece of the puzzle I needed to try out a localtalk to ethernet bridge option arrived in the mail. As I am typing this, I am moving 50 Meg of...
Thanks for the advice; I had swapped motherboards and determined the problem was on the first motherboard. Anyone have any ideas where to look to try to pinpoint the problem on the board? I'm hoping it's a cold joint on one of the caps, but don't know where to begin to look.
Thanks,
J White
I have an SE/30 motherboard. When I use this machine for about 45 minutes, the speaker will start making a clicking noise whenever the mouse is moved or clicked. If I scroll on a window, it will click continuously while I am scrolling. I saw an old post on here about someone else having the same...
It's done; went from 8 Megs to 32 Megs pretty quick and easy. Oh, except I forgot to put ethernet card back in :(
Now it's off to figure out a small RAM disk. Is there a way to have a RAM disk made at startup and then dump the System folder into it and run off of it?
Thanks,
J White
I have an SE/30 logic board that is giving me fits (another topic for another day) so I swapped in my spare board and all is working fine. Except this board only has 8 meg installed. My other board had 20, and I am thinking of upping this one to at least 20, if not 32. My dilemma is that this...
Yesterday I realized that my SE/30 running System 7.1 was afflicted by this. I downloaded the patch mentioned above, and it is resolved!
Thanks for sharing the link,
J White
I like the drives too. I've got three; a 200 Meg 5 1/4" drive, an EZ135, and this 105 Meg one. In my garage, I've also got a 44 M and another 200 M drive. I started using these a long time ago when I found the 200 Meg drive at Goodwill for something like $6 (it was a half off day) and it was in...
I am trying it out on a powerbook 190 running system 7.5.2. The disk utility I have been using on this machine is Silverlining Lite 2.0. When I select mount, it gives me this screen. I have the mouse clicked to show the drop down menu of possible formats.
I guess if it is some obscure...
