    posting from my 540c - conquest: AAUI->RJ45 + NIC

They go for $15 each? I found a pair of them at Micro Center marked down for $3 each, plus I got a couple more in my latest conquest. Oh, and as for 68kmla sucking in MSIE 3, I disagree, it looks kist fine in PMSIE on my Jornada 820 :D -digital ;)

    A happy old PC...

nice. I got a older gateway with an AMD athlon that I intend to rebuild and install vista on. It's 800+ mhz, so it just makes it. I just need an ATX power supply, and I am in business. I might also get a new case for it, or build one, as the original is in pretty poor shape. But then again, real...

Is it worth liberating a broken 22" apple cinema

I remember that game!! it's on my powerbook 100, if I ever replace the screen. But yeah, if it's free, and there is not any visible cracks and bleeding, then take it. Who knows, it might just work. -digital ;)

    The forum logo?

nice joke, but you forgot to edit the copyright, and give us some windows emoticons for the day. I also got an email from someone on here, they said "I saw your post on the Windows Liberation Army forums", so it's fooling some people :D -digital ;)

    Where are the quickcam drivers?

I have looked everywhere for these. All hotline servers I know of, macdrivermuseum, and clever google searches. Even Logitech's site does not seem to carry them anymore. I just can not seem to find any drivers for the Connectix quickcams. I do have a quickcam CD, but it has other things on it...

    Quicksilver G4!

it can only read PC133? I thought it was interchangeable. I know PC133 runs just fine in PC100 slots, it just throttles down. But PC133 slots should be perfectly compatible with PC100s. I know my mom's toshiba laptop takes PC2100, but i was using a PC2700 stick in the second slot. I tried the...

    Quicksilver G4!

Even if one slot is fried, couldnt you just put in 3 512mb sticks to still get the maximum of 1.5gb? because at least 2 slots support 512mb sticks, if the RAM limit is 1.5gb, there would have to be 512x2 and 256x2. still, quite a nice find. I have been trying to get a G4 system for under $100...

    Brawl!

hmmm, there's my dad's Atari 800 in the basement. No carts though. Damn repairmen stealing our stuff!! I remember whittling away day of my youth playing missile command, space invaders, and of course, Pac Man!! I also came across a box with the original instruction manual for my PS1, and my...

    Woo! TechStep!

nice. You can run those things off regular 9 volt batteries, which tends to make them a bit more portable. Just snap off the port block, and there you go. Also, nice to see it comes with the case. Most times they don't. I have always wanted one. -digital ;)

what to do with a stripped icebook?

Well, I don't have enough RAM to run tiger. I only have a 64mb stick to spare, bringing it to 128mb. So, I am gonna run 9.2.2 on it with the onboard 64mb of RAM. I just spent time stripping it. I scrapped everything but the motherboard, sleep LED, LCD panel, reset button, and power button. The...

what to do with a stripped icebook?

I already have one, a 500mhz, 80gb, 576mb machine with airport card. I would just need the logicboard with 128mb of RAM and the combo drive, and it would be maxed out. Runs tiger quite nicely. I have also ran into another snag. The CD drive is totally dead. It won't eject with the button on the...

    ~llama scores an AV

7 hours?! werent the clamshells rated only for 6? And here my dual USB only gets 1 hour from it's depleted cells. I have always wanted a original ibook for my collection, the 300mhz, 32mb, 3.2gb version, with airport card, running Airport software 1.0 on Mac OS 8.6. And get it in blueberry, of...

what to do with a stripped icebook?

I got this in my haul, and I was told it was dead. They said it had a dead mobo. I had a bit of free time, so I pulled it out, plugged in my power adapter, and hit the power button. It not only chimed, but it booted into 9.2.2!! That's why I love macs, they can take a hell of a beating. It's...

    Cheap MicroCenter clearence

yeah, I got a few AAUI adapters a while back from them. They have a shelf full of forgotten vintage mac stuff in the back, like mac VGA adapters and such. If I had enough money, I would clean them out. Speaking of good deals, I went there the other day, and I got myself an external hard drive...

    Prototype card?

Hey guys. I got a pair of IIgses over here, both woz editions, and both appear to be slightly different revisions. One of them has the memory expansion card, which is HUGE. The other one has some sort of auxillary fan strapped to the power supply and plugs in to a port on the mobo. What peaked...

    Freecycle Haul!!

Alright, I am back, time to count my dead and wounded. I only got like half of what they had, but I can come back, and next year the school will be switching to windows machines, so there are labs of B&W G3s and eMacs I can take. Plus he mentioned a G5, but I dunno yet. He had a lab full of...
