Thank you! It’s been hard to sort out without 5126 schematics. I am working on the sound issue, but it seems a bit different than the 5120 so still poking around.
I got it to boot finally. More broken traces and some misunderstanding on my part in some repairs. Still don’t have sound, but I’ll sort that out I’m sure.
I have managed to fix quite a few traces. I have what seems to be correct voltages on the board. I can see activity on the CPU data pins.
I’m getting a black screen with the backlight on. I’m wondering now if I have a bad trace on my LCD connector. The pinout is different than the 5120...
I have a 5126 that I have been working on for weeks now. Looking forward to seeing if you get these working. Mine is getting a black screen, backlight works. I found a few broken traces and fixed them, found some weird voltages on some of the mosfets, replaced a couple. It’s just hard to work on...

I got my first portable, 5126 backlit. I took all the advice here and didn’t try and boot anything. I recapped the board, got a new battery that I’ve seen others use, 6.5V lantern battery and used the 3d printed shell and connected copper feet.
Got a new 9v battery as well and the system booted...
Hi! I got my first iBook Clamshell, the special edition one. It’s in decent shape and boots up. The issue is there is a diagonal Colum of keys that don’t work. 8, I, K and , I took the keyboard out and saw what seems to be the ghost of some liquid on the back of the metal housing on the...
I have my Apple IIc all set up and working. The colors in the color monitor look wildly out of convergence. I read the system manual and only see basic color dials. Is this a normal color alignment?
I watched this video and noticed the reset button and the two white buttons next to it are the same color as the case. Mine didn’t get that white. Time for more UV for sure.
