What are your Freecycle conquest rates?

Did you try setting it to daily digest instead of individual emails in the options section? I only get 3 emails a day; one from my home county and one from each neighboring county. :)

What are your Freecycle conquest rates?

Hippies are thrifty though, I used to live with a bunch of them. :D It doesn't surprise me that they'd snatch up all the freebies.

What are your Freecycle conquest rates?

Sometimes I wonder if there are people who have some kind of notification sent to their cellphones or something whenever a new message is posted... I mean... I would think I would've gotten lucky atleast once by now. :/

    PC...

That's good and all, but here's the important question: Where did you get it?

What are your Freecycle conquest rates?

So, based on the number of times you email people who are offering computers / parts on Freecycle- how many of them actually result in conquests? I must have sent about 50 emails in the last 6 months and none have paid off. Mostly because the item gets snagged in about 3 seconds flat. However...

    posting from my 540c - conquest: AAUI->RJ45 + NIC

Is there any difference between browsing with iCab in System 7 vs OS 8? I am thinking about taking OS 8 off my machine... it seems to bog it down quite a bit.. but I don't want to completely destroy my ability to browse the forums.

    iTouch!

You can post on the interwebs from an iPod? Gosh. That's just swell. *has never owned or even touched an iPod of any variety*

Man selling a "priceless" 6100 on eBay

Someone should tell him to put it on his local Craigslist. Local pickup is the only way he is going to get rid of that thing.

Big liberation, part 2: WAY more software plus some hardware

People who do mass liberations and recycle them back into the MLA don't deserve medals. They deserve promotions. :beige:

Is it worth liberating a broken 22" apple cinema

In the worst case, you might be able to sell the shell if it's in good condition. Someone somewhere might need to replace their broken one. But I mean... I can't imagine why the screen would be chiming. :D Actually, speaking of chiming; my CRT makes these weird "ping" sounds once in a while...

    G4 533MHz ZIF - $20

It's not that I have an issue with applying thermal paste. I've just never seen one of those pad things before and the heatsink wobbles without it. I tried putting a little bit of extra bend in the clamp so it would hold it more firmly, but it still seems to be pushing down in the wrong...

    Dream peripherals (the return)

Yes, I've seen that site and I think I have it saved somewhere, but I always misplace the link. I believe he got it up to 1.67ghz. I would try it; I'm confident in my soldering skills, but my machine generates so much heat as it is, I'd have to do as he did and invest in additional fans. Maybe...

The heatsink just seems kind of wobbly without the pad. :/

    G4 533MHz ZIF - $20

I got my G3/450 yesterday too and installed it in my beige G3 and it runs well. I have the bus at 75mhz. Boot times in X dropped 5 seconds, but booting to OS9 gives timebomb errors and hangs, but it'll boot to 9 okay with extensions off. I think I might OC it to 466, just because. I need a...

    Dream peripherals (the return)

A processor upgrade for the dual 1.42ghz FW800 MDD G4. That's all I want. USB on 68Ks would be cool too.

    Big liberation, part 1: Software

I used to love the King's Quest games. I enjoyed 6 a lot more than 5 though. Did they make the Incredible Machine also? Until now, I hadn't realized they were released for Mac... I'll have to try and find a copy now. :D
