Hi everyone,
I purchased a 145b for $50 today, the issues can be seen in photo. No chime, lines on screen and corrosion. The powerbook still has original battery but I removed it. What should I do to fix it?
After a month, the supply arrived from china, I got a brick that a laptop would use, 24v 4a, it was $12 AUD and looks shifty, but the monitor is real bright, I decided to just solder the red to red and black to black instead of putting a DC jack on the monitor side. It would of been a wiser idea...
I wont be needing a replacement part for who knows how long, I connected monitor positive to pin 1 and 2 and negative pin 11 and 12 to my powermac g5 ADC connector and plugged display into DVI and the display looked good with os x leopard.
I totaled the price to $80au which is $70au now since seller thought it was 24" instead of 23". Im getting a 24v 100w psu for $20 and splitting power wires instead of paying more than the monitor its self.
Hi everyone,
Im thinking of buying the A1082 for cinema display for my G5, it will cost $80 with power ($64.50 US), is it worth it? It does seem like a nice monitor.
I cant answer your question but I tried putting this onto my LC475 last week. The video has a download in the description for a 100mb .dsk file which I could open with HFVExplorer, its a complete system image with the .cvt software too. I dont really remember but I believe sound clip was huge.
I will have a look at the headphone jack once I get back
I also believe the pop noises the computer makes when i turn it on may be the speaker trying to output a chime due to the fact that they are at the same time and go for the same amount of time as a chime would, also sounds like a blown...
I should really only need a USB card or maybe none at all if I just use a cd-rw, I want to put files onto a usb from my pc and plug into the 7200/90 then use its floppy drive to write disks for my older macs including the Macintosh Plus, I stumbled across a cheap pile of old Mac floppies...
Hi everyone,
I have a Macintosh Plus that was recently recaped and will only chime though headphones and not through the speaker, if the speaker is the issue, what replacement part(s) would I need?
I hope to replace the SE screen and fix its superdrive at the end of November. I forgot to mention that every connector joint on the Plus analog board had the old solder removed and replaced with flux core solder. The outer shell will be cleaned but not retrobrighted. That dent in the corner was...
Well thanks everyone for giving an idea to all the parts I can buy, I believe most of these parts are selling in my city on gumtree.com.au. I wish I still had my rage 128 from a powermac g3 I used to have.
Update:
Complete analog board electrolytic cap replacement with 105C ones, including PSU resulted in the same issue, at least that is what I thought. The mistake of not messing with the brightness knob got me until 2 minutes after being disappointed, I adjusted it and after a few seconds it...
HI everyone,
I have a fully working 7200/90 with a 1GB HDD and 128MB RAM which runs OS 9.0, I plan to use as a way to get software from my PC to my Macintosh classic and SE.
What PCI graphics cards, usb cards, and wifi cards would work with it?
I could probably get a wireless extender to plug...
Ill follow the procedure properly for replacing the battery. I managed to boot from a OS 9.0.4 CD that I burned with transmac and I have wiped the HDD.
The 7200/90 came with OS 9.2 which isn't officially supported, once the loading bar reached half way, screen just went black.
So far I replaced the PRAM battery which happened after this issue occurred.
System appears to have 128MB RAM, boots off its normal HDD, CD Drive, floppy and no...
I got all the caps now, I created a new thread asking what location the axial ones go e.g. c1, c2, c3 because I removed them and accidentally forgot to see what their values are, so I dont know which axial cap goes where. I used RS for some parts (free fast shipping for anything, even a $2 total...
