The 512k Looks like it has some problems with the analog video circuit...? it looks different than the standard 'jailbar' pattern to me. Very nice finds Macdrone! Too bad we don't get any affordable (if any at all!) 512k's, 128k's or portables in The Netherlands.

Jup it should work. Plugged mine in without the battery and it showed a green light instantly, then it should turn orange and you should hear the eMate 'bong'. Really hope you get it working!

You want me to try mine without battery in it and only the power adapter?

Make SURE the screen hinges on the eMate are okay :O If they feel stiff (and even if they don't) there is a good chance that opening and closing the screen can result in a loud crack sound, followed by one of the hinge springs puncturing the screen ribbon cable. This happened to me as well.

You know, since we are talking about an SE prototype; I have always wondered why they silkscreened the name on the right side of the SE and SE fdhd/superdrive models. All other macs just seem to have it on the left. Even the SE/30 Anyone knows if the placement has any reason?

While this may totally not be the case here: my plus would reboot over and over again when i turned it on, turned out to be a broken solder joint on the analog board connector to the logic board (J4 IIRC). try gently slapping the plus casing on the side of the analog board, to see if you get...

I also got a very nice Syquest drive with enclosure a while back, 'peel this off before use'-sticker still on it. Came with 10 + 1 NEW never inserted Cardriges and the shipping box of the 10 cardriges even has the Syquest name on it. Love the sound, speed and technique behind it :) lovely.

i also got one recently with the original manuals, remote and adapter. no av-cable sadly. They are almost common here in the Netherlands (because of Philips maybe?).

Thanks for testing that out. I'm going to try and download it sometime next week with the same browser and version but on a powermac 9600/200 which I know has working ethernet. I'll keep you updated on what it does or does not.

Stuffit expander 4.2 iirc, will have a look tomorrow if i find some spare time again. yeah maybe the files are incomplete. tried a few times. maybe the site is bad? if i try to open any of them with double clicking, it goes straight back to the download manager of iCab.

Thanks for the help. I downloaded it with the assumption of it being freeware from system 7 today. If this is not the case i will be more cautious. (I already was planning on buying the disks anyway so that solves one problem.) I just opened them up with stuffit expander but it just sits...

Okay so i got my Macintosh Performa 450 (LC III) with a PDS Ethernet card succesfully on the net! it doesn't really want to work with the internet pass through option on my windows desktop because of it complaining about them using the same ip... weird. but anyhow: Downloaded and installed...
