Radius Pivot IIsi adapter for SE/30 PDS

Oh and BadGoldEagle, The pinouts for the 030 PDS are in both the BOMARC schematics, and also somewhere in DCaDftMF(3e).

Radius Pivot IIsi adapter for SE/30 PDS

Well for some bad news that I also relayed in the ProtoCache1 thread, I left my project files at home by accident. So, BGE, that means that I you will have to wait a little while longer in order to get my layout files. I don't have access to them until the end of my trip, when I return home...

    ProtoCache1 - IIsi/SE/30 PowerCache Adapter Prototype Development

Awesome trash! I like those PLCC to DIP adaptors, they look very useful! Here we go! Some bad news however: I forgot to put my project files on my USB flash drive that I took with me. Now, that normally wouldn't be a problem, except I was stupid enough to forget to upload it to my NAS. If it...

help with USB floppy drive on Powerbook G4

My USB floppy drive is made entirely by NEC, with a NEC chipset, and NEC drive. It also has a mini B receptical.

Radius Pivot IIsi adapter for SE/30 PDS

You could have asked me for my KiCad footprint files that I have been using over in ProtoCachex. [:P] ]'> Also, you mentioned you were a novice, so let me give you a few tips: * Single layer PCBs are NOT your friend. I know they are slightly cheaper, but not enough to justify their limited...

A crazy idea: original 2001 iPod on modern Mac?

See, the problem is that the Macbook has no thunderbolt expansion, otherwise you could use the official Thunderbolt to FW800 adaptor. So will it work on a modern mac? Yeah, maybe, as long as you can get firewire. So, on the macbook with only USB expansion, I'm not sure how that will work. You...

    ProtoCache1 - IIsi/SE/30 PowerCache Adapter Prototype Development

Hi TPope, I'm on vacation, so sorry for the terse reply... The plan is to have two connectors, with the possibility of three later, after a buffer line driver is designed. For the moment, plan on one IIci cache slot for the accelerator, and one PDS passthrough slot, for video or ethernet. The...

    Wiki/Pages article ideas

While it's a shame its not an actual breathing Snitz installation, it is a simple HTML dump. The form between the pages is pretty darn similiar, so a program to parse the HTML isn't out of the question. Wget the whole site, figure out the form, parse it into a database, done!

How long does OS9 take to boot for you?

Thank you! I take about 10-15 seconds to get to Welcome to Macintosh, then a minute or more to the finder. Extension hunting time!

    My First Quadra

Haha, Snitz was just a joke on my part. It indeed would be hilarious, but, it probably has lots of security holes in it. It was last updated in 2009, and while open source it would be difficult to patch any bugs that may arise. Funny yes, practical no. Where it would be great is browsing the...

    Wiki/Pages article ideas

Sure, there is a lot of information that could be added to the Wiki (or whatever they happen to decide to use). For example, there are a LOT of stickied threads, that would be better off as Wiki articles.

How long does OS9 take to boot for you?

By the time you get the MacOS splash screen, the memory test has finished. I see the MacOS splash screen fairly quickly, it just hangs while loading. I'm inclined to think extensions. Thanks.

    ProtoCache1 - IIsi/SE/30 PowerCache Adapter Prototype Development

Resistance isn't an issue, as long as the daughter card is securely in its socket. The biggest issue is trace length matching, but as BMOW said, it's not a big deal. I suspected all along it wouldn't be a big deal, especially at 16MHz in the SE/30, but it's *really* nice that someone with more...

How long does OS9 take to boot for you?

The general consensus is extensions, which would make sense. I'll try an extensions disabled boot tomorrow.

    ProtoCache1 - IIsi/SE/30 PowerCache Adapter Prototype Development

It's supposed to be a clone of the PowerCache. Have you ever heard of the Artmix TwinSpark adaptor? (If you don't read Japanese, run it through Google Translate) This is designed to be functionally identical to it. Not really a proper clone, but similar. There are a few other adaptors that let...

How long does OS9 take to boot for you?

I have my Quicksilver G4 here, and I installed 9.2.2 on it a little while ago. It has a problem that's been bothering me, and now finally enough to post on it. How long does OS9 take to boot up for you? I think there is something broken with my install. I get the bong, then the happy mac, then...

    ProtoCache1 - IIsi/SE/30 PowerCache Adapter Prototype Development

Thank you very much Joe! It doesn't surprise me that folks are hesitant to contribute to something that they don't really know much about. They just understand that this will let them accelerate their 030 PDS based mac!

    ProtoCache1 - IIsi/SE/30 PowerCache Adapter Prototype Development

Well, more like 13 pages, but some of those pages don't have public hits ;) I'll probably get started on producing gerbers for you (tomorrow, after I have caffeinated my body), so you don't have to wait for me being on vacation :D If you decide you don't need/want them right now, let me know.

    My First Quadra

Thanks c! I might sign up for the trial, just for fun. I hope they have access to all of the configuration, one thing I was worried about with a remote server hosting it, if I host it at my place, then I know I have control over every minute detail. I've been managing PHPbb before, and it...
