    Snuci's Finds...

I FINALLY caught my Bell and Howell Apple II Plus computer earlier on eBay.  It has an early serial number, raised square power light and an internal board that is a Rev 4 or maybe even a Rev 3 (chips are dated early 1979).  This unit, apparently, was prior to the back pack units so it wasn't an...

    Snuci's Finds...

Having not had anything awesome to report, I did manage to pick up an Apple Lisa Lucite block.  I didn't realize these were that small ( 1 5/8" ?) but it is still a rare find and at a decent price.  I jumped on it.  eBay Auction Link

    Color Classic Questions

Have a look at this:  http://lowendmac.com/1998/why-do-i-prefer-system-7-5-5/ I did need to do this to run TCP/IP with the Ethernet card above.

    Color Classic Questions

7.1 is the OS that the CC came with originally.  You can upgrade to 7.5 but I don't know if there was a full CC specific install for 7.5.  Does anyone else know for sure?

    Color Classic Questions

I tried. You only do that once and then you never try again because it is slow and the browsers don't support modern standards (as to be expected) :)

    Color Classic Questions

Tempest, I use that card on a Mac Color Classic and once I have TCP/IP set up, I use it an FTP client (can't recall witch at the moment) to download files/disk images.  That board works well.  I have not tried a direct connection to another Mac so I can't comment on  that.

    Macintosh Color Classic repair adventure

Let it dry thoroughly and try it before doing anything. There is capacitor goo all over the board in your "before" pictures.

    Lisa Workshop Macintosh Supplement

Hang on for a little.  I just sent a message to the CC-Talk list that had a post about the Inside Macintosh books.  I posted links to the documentation and disk images and requested that if anyone else has any earlier documentation or disks to let me know.  Let's see if I get any replies.  I am...

Here is a link to both of the Supplement docs now scanned: http://vintagecomputer.ca/download/apple/macintosh/developer/MacSupplement-Feb.15.1985.pdf http://vintagecomputer.ca/download/apple/macintosh/developer/MacSupplement-May.1985.pdf Do let me know if you find anything interesting in...

    Lisa Workshop Macintosh Supplement

The loose documentation I have is post Inside Macintosh phone book for the 2/85 and 5/85 software suppliments.  I don't see any reference to Core Edit API.  At some point, I will scan the whole thing.  It talks about what should be on those disks and I don't think they are right.  I also don't...

    Hyperdrive System Software Disk 2

It came with one of my 10MB HyperDrive computers.  This was an interesting one because it came with full Mac 512k manuals including the free Mac magazine coupon (un-used) and the HyperDrive warranty cards.  I don't see the user manual here but I'm fairly certain I have a user manual.  If...

    Hyperdrive System Software Disk 2

Sept 85 - original release of the HyperDrive and its system software (V1 Disk 2 seems to belong to this version; Disk 1 sadly is the one that remains obstinately unreadble) This disk pictured below (that is also bootable with System 4.1 but is a copy)?  I think that was the image I posted in...

    Lisa Workshop Macintosh Supplement

This is definitely early stuff.  I also noticed that I didn't link to the MacStuff 2-85 Disk 1.  It has Finder 1.1g on it and is a bootable disk.  It's as early an OS as I've seen that runs on a Mac. 2-85 MacStuff 1 (409.5 KiB) All of these files can be found in my Files area here: ...

    Lisa Workshop Macintosh Supplement

I've archived and uploaded the disks I have.  None of them are MacSupplement disks or they would not have been readable from the Mac and only readable on a Lisa.  The MacSupplement disks I had had an earlier version of MacStuff (2/85) but I only have three of five disks.  I archived these...

    Lisa Workshop Macintosh Supplement

I think I need to scan some documentation. These disks came with documentation but I'm certain I don't have all of them.  I have the phonebook "Inside Macintosh" promotional copy plus an addition set of documentation on loose three hole punched sheets about as thick as the "Inside Macintosh"...

    Lisa Workshop Macintosh Supplement

I think I may have 1 or two but I don't have the full set and I believe they have been overwritten :(   Maybe you can tell me what MacStuff disks are?  I have a few of those too but I don't believe they are a complete set either. I do, however, have images for Lisa WorkShop 3.0 here...

    Hyperdrive System Software Disk 2

Thanks olePigeon!  I downloaded them.  With all this talk about HyperDrives, I do have one HyperDrive with a bad drive.  I really should fix it.  I THINK I found a drive for it but it's been a while and now I can't remember.
