Hmmm.... 68K Helmet anyone? http://www.geocities.com/geckoboy2424/68kmla.png Little big for a logo, but it could be scaled.

    New Store items?

I'd buy one of the hats but I'd never wear it. I love the button and might be getting one sometime. Might be good to make the store more prominent, the only link to it on the whole site is a tiny little one, the last one in a row of many similar ones. Putting it on a new line and making it...

    Image viewers for System 7?

I found a copy for free download somewhere or other, I'm not sure of the legality. Like I said, I'm using the GIMP on Ubuntu to play with images I want to put on it.

    New Store items?

I don't know about the rest but I'd like to see more items for the store sometime, maybe a 68kMLA logo shirt? I know it's a busy time but I'd like to know the plans for when, if ever, the 68kMLA Store will be updated. What does everybody else think?

    Image viewers for System 7?

Got GIFWatcher DA, seems to work well. Like I said, I convert the images to b&w and scale to an appropriate resolution beforehand.

my vision for 68k/ early ppc macs

Haiku would be *awesome* on old Macs. Dunno what it would run like but it's a great system just like BeOS was...

Put in more memory and then problem. SE/30

*female monotone* You have experienced the Mac Chimes of Death. Please wait for more experienced personnel to come to your aid. Please remain calm as the authorities are attempting to rectify the situation. Thank you.

    Image viewers for System 7?

The Mac is a Classic with 4mb of RAM, so I'm looking for something light and B&W. I use the GIMP to scale and convert images I want to view, I just need something to view them with.

    Image viewers for System 7?

Ugh, I hate asking this here but I can't find it on the web... What are some good image viewers for Systems 6 and 7? Mainly for GIF and bitmaps, but other formats are good...

    As the world upgrades...

Yick. Flower Power? I'd like a Athlon 64 x2 iMac with 1600x1200 screen and a 256mb vid card. That would just be awesome. Slate or whatever they called the grey one, indigo, or blueberry, or orange would be good colors.

    Power supply for LC2

Got it working without a PSU replacement. Turns out there was serious corrosion on the connectors, but some poking with wire solved it(don't do this. Very stupid.)

LC 575 and Color Classic Battery Alternatives

    3 standard any-size 1.5v batteries(d, c, a, aa, etc) wired and taped will get 4.5v... Haven't tested so DON'T KILL MEEEEE.

    Just got an LC III

Great! They're great little boxen, though you should probably upgrade the memory to the max, and perhaps a larger HD. I would love to see Haiku on it, so go for it!

    OS on PPC

Ehh.. Less RAM, less OS feature development, less OS feature development, less hardware development. To keep the industry running you need to have both. That said, the modern OSen really could be trimmed a lot.

    Seek Pismo opinion.

Hmm, none of those seem to apply to my OS9 G3 lappy. Not sure if it's a Pismo or something else, but it has the Bronze keyboard, a 400mhz G3, and 320mb of RAM, as well as a quite nice DVD drive. GUI is good, USB seems to work with most of the stuff I try(floppy drive, camera, about 5 USB...

    LCII

Relevant quote from LowEndMac: The end of the Classic line in the North American market, the Color Classic shared the motherboard design of the LC II - equally limited in RAM expansion, constricted by a 16-bit data bus, and able to use 16-bit PDS cards designed for the LC. The only significant...

Have you used your Color Classic lately?

    LCII

I said I was aware of the technical compromises. However, in actual use the machine is perfectly usable and doesn't feel crippled, not at all.

    LCII

Crippled? I'm aware of its technical limitations and compromises, but if you've ever used one, it's a very good machine. The 10mb RAM limit is the only one I find anywhere near 'crippling', and even that is not severe if you don't need to be doing anything really advanced.
