leopard has an artificial limiter that prevent it from running on lower G4 systems the threshold of 867 mhz is totally arbitrary it can be fooled by an open firmware trick all support for G3 systems however have been written out of the code for leopard though...

there were no bigger ram modules availble at a reasonable price at the time why do you think the moment that the ram prices dropped apple released the 512k mac the same year ? the mac developers had to perform miracles to get a full working gui in 128 k and miracles they did...

leopard on your G3 ? not going to happen apple removed all G3 support from leopard if you want leoapard on an ibook invest in a G4

depending on what else is in it its not the worst deal out there either

my G5 is a ambient light sensor imac and there you just have to remove the back plane to get to the guts of the imac why apple chanced it to this is beyond me

rolling stones paint it black ( easy ) id prefer blue ( naturally) and it was black to start with so why paint it black again ?

yes i was running panther for a while under 128 mb on a imac G4 800 mhz and i can tell you it was no fun i added 256 mb ram and that made a lot of difference

and how does it run ?

install a differnt version of mac os on each of them and hook them up on a net work off course
