because the geforce 6200 was the only AGP video card they had
and the motherboard doesnt accept more then 512 mb of system ram
it refuses to boot otherwise
if it didnt this machine would have 1,5 gig of ram by now
i doubt an extra 256 mb wil make that much of a difference on this dog of a emac
tiger has been reinstalled several times no difference so far
the internal drive is shot so i have to boot of a usb drive and tiger is the only one who does that
jaguar and panther...

2 right so what about those claims that you rarely have to reboot mac os x just hot air i take it
3 pc 100 ram isnt cheap any more
just the chip and the voltage regulator from the IBM server it came from not a whoel work station
so yes i got my hands on a pentium 3 xeon 1266 mhz 512 kb l2 133 mhz fsb 1,45 V
which forms the heart of my franken pc slapped together from the parts of at least 3 other...
i have a emac 700 mhz with 768 mb ram and tiger
...hate it
its ungainly slow and al i do is surf the internet
after barley a day of use it bogs down and slows to a crawl
my 2 ibooks are fine they are the 500 mhz versions and were released before the whole gpu problem became an issue
one of them is ...quirky though
its bak light goes on and off its held together by no more then 10 screws its combo drive lives when it wants to
yet it runs...
at the moment i dont have any bigger laptop hd's then 20 gig and it has 384 mb ram i had a spare pc 2700 so dimm lying around
in due time ill up it to at least 1152 mb if the 1 gig modules are a bit reasonable
not to keen on upgrading the hd 20 gig is plenty and i have been...
does it actually work ?
reminds me of the clevo lcd pc i found for 50 bucks it also looked like a lcd screen with a rather large base
turned out to be ap 4 2400 mhz with a 120 gig hd and in stil perfect working order
shoveld it off to my mother where its now being used to play...
for the record i wasnt that worried if a wallstreet could use cardbus
but if jaguar could use a cardbus card with usb
turns out it can so i am happy with that
