Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Nope. Apple did all sorts of weird things in this period. Using up older cases before transitioning to a newer design for the same model was one of them.
Edit: Also the only difference between the 475 and the earlier LCs was the logic board, everything else is interchangeable. Not really much...
A couple of machines have showed up in the last couple of weeks due to being on eBay for very reasonable prices.
First up the Quadra 650, a machine I personally consider incredibly underrated and perhaps the best Quadra, all things considered. This one came with a Formac ProLegend GA...
I got these made in PA12 nylon (I don't have 3d printing facilities myself) and can highly recommend. They fit perfectly, snug so they won't fall off but still removable to get into the machine.
My Quadra 700 was missing it's feet, so decided to not mess around and see if I could find some and just get a load 3D-printed instead. Enormous thanks to @jessenator for coming up with the model in the first place and tweaking it again for me to perfection.
Have been tempted to ignore my own declaration and post the story of my Classic II, named 'Sole Survivor' (yes, that is a Fallout reference). At least then I can link people on IRC to this post and not having to repeat myself.
The tale begins about a month or so ago, when I was arranging...
Woo I haven't kept this thread updated. But as to not bore anyone with a long list of things that have come and gone in the meantime, I'll continue from now.
Whilst we were in the Dark Times (i.e. last weekend), I was put in touch (thanks @Scott Squires for the hookup) with an older guy who had...
Have you got the 'board out already? Maybe you might have to lead the charge on documenting this. If it wasn't such a faff to do and I had a reason to do it, I'll pull my 1400 apart and document it myself.
@jimbojones apologies I've just seen this, I haven't really visited these forums much over the last month. If you've still got the machine, I'm definitely interested.

I can't help myself sometimes. Met @Damian Ward today (lovely chap) and came away with a rare Workgroup Server 8550 (effectively a 8500 with the AV stuff removed) that needs a bit of work, and a Quicksilver G4 (733MHz). Unfortunately life means I won't be able to get around to the 8550 for a few...
Mine's a RevF, not the latest, but does use the same 6.3.1 firmware (22nd April 2020) as the '2020' version. Never turned on SCSI2.
Mine would crash out when doing installs (always at the 'writing' stage), and sometimes doing file copies. I could also get a working system through copying the...
I took this option; my iBook G3 refused flat to even see my Ubiquiti AP. I acquired a WRT54G from eBay for minimal cost and have hooked it up set to hidden just for my iBook, works perfectly.
Saying that, I think I've got a WPC54G card floating around somewhere that I could part with, if you'd...
Hopefully you haven't bought one yet, but the SE/30 and the SCSI2SD V6 are not friends; I found this out to my disadvantage. The V5.1 works perfectly, however.
