Yah  it is. And even after removing it a month before it stopped working. It destroys something on the board overtime 

Make sure you take out the pram battery inside. I had one that just stopped working becuase i waited to long to take out the battery. Had to part it out and recycle the logic board 

Theres capacitors on the flippy drive. Also did you open the drice to clean the heads and if the ribbon cables are ripped

No there nothing like that it says it was made in febuary1995 and last used in december 1995 so its not being used

my mac performa 6116cd has this system file called 694-0615 in the preferences folder and it has no icon. What is that?  A virus? I already ran a check. 

One thing i did with a powerbook 170 and a IBM thinkpad with stiff hinges is take the spring out of one of the hinges and loosen the hinges using a plyers now only one side has a spring in the hinge holding the screen and other side is free. Just dont loosen the spring hinge to much. 

How do you keep it from tunneling? My 170 has a problem were it has 3 lines going down on the far left of the lcd when on but it goes away when i put pressure on the side of the screen. Its not the lcd cable. Thats good everybodys safe.

I also noticed theres no fuse on it mine has a built in fuse

So today i turned on the ibook clamshell that always had a dead battery and it actually turned on and charged!! Its running rn under battery and says it has 3:15. Its been running for over hour now!! How is this possible? My duo 280c is also running on battery but dies in 30 sec.

Is this still possible to put a duo 230 on the internet? 

I think it does. It uses the memory as vram. My powerbook 145b that i sold (was a peice of junk) had that weird adapter to but i put it on the 170.

The powerbook 100 does the same thing with backlight not lighting up until it starts booting and makes a cracking sound in the speaker. The portable is alot like the 100.

Wait so the pink blobs i have in my powerbooks is just the film? Its not permanent damage??

Hey do you have a extra hard drive for it? Mine is missing the hard drive cable.

It also has fuse on the board i just looked at mine. 

Try removing the battery and turning it on off quickly i have the same computer
