    512K gives System Error = 02 reading floppy / HD20

Heh, that's funny. A couple of years ago I was going through a big stack of old floppies after I resurrected my Plus. Disinfectant flagged one of them with MDEF. i though it was pretty funny, 30 year old virus still lurking. Back in the day these things were pretty common around the office with...

    PowerBook Express Modem 14.4kps

I believe it came on the original Powerbook system install disks. (6.0.8-7.1 etc.) It would certainly also be available on one of the Service Source CD's from the '90's, images/ISOs of which are available.

Do Not Have Enough Access Privileges Error - Mac OS 9.2.2

That is strange. If it's an IDE drive you might try reformatting (low level) it in a PC if you have access to one. After that, yeah, you might just let it go.

    techworks non-ram?

Techworks supplied Power Computing with caches and memory. One of the "secrets" to Power Computing's faster Macs were bigger caches. I have a Techworks 1MB cache I bought for my 8500. It made huge difference in performance over the stock 256K. (I got a discount from Techworks stuff because I...

Do Not Have Enough Access Privileges Error - Mac OS 9.2.2

There's probably some damage to the directory or the desktop file or some bad blocks. You can run the Apple Disk First Aid, it may fix it but Norton is a more comprehensive. The zip drive issue may be the extension is damaged or missing.

GCC HyperDrive troubleshooting - drive doesn't spin

Oh I hadn't seen that. Terrific info! If you need a better photo of the HD board let me know. I can take a picture, although my drive is only 10mb.

GCC HyperDrive troubleshooting - drive doesn't spin

Hmm, that's a shame, yeah fried components. No way to know why they fried or if replacing them would fix anything. I only fire up my system a couple of times a year and I'm always surprised that it still works because I know one day it won't.

GCC HyperDrive troubleshooting - drive doesn't spin

If you're lucky the drive is just stuck and can be freed up.

GCC HyperDrive troubleshooting - drive doesn't spin

The HD is a serial drive, at the least the one in my system is. Does the HD get power from the analog board? It may be that analog board needs to have the caps replaced. If it has a separate PS for the board and drive check out this thread...

    Ultimate Pioneer MPC-LX200

Nice score! The Pioneer is a neat clone! The keyboard is real bonus. You might try removing the cards, it could be the power supply is getting weak. No surprise the CD300 has trouble with CD-R's, they barely existed when that drive was made.

Scored a nice Apple coffee cup

Got these at goodwill the other day. Not bad for a buck each. Both look brand new. The BAT1 cup is from Motorola. BAT1 was the Bump, Assembly, and Test facility that Moto built in Austin back in the '90's.

Need help determining the speed of PowerPC G3 CPU

Motorola laser marked the die on most parts. Apparently IBM marked the substrate rather than the die on their parts.

Need help determining the speed of PowerPC G3 CPU

The chip speed is probably marked on the package under the white "gasket". However, it would be best not remove it as you don't want to damage the die with the heatsink. I believe that 333W is the module speed and if it's running ok at 333 well then there you go! :)
