    Seeking advice on bombed SE/30

Awesome! Thanks. If I wanted to get a Synchr030, could I leave out the ram slots entirely?

    Seeking advice on bombed SE/30

Heyo! As per usual, I got an SE/30, the battery has leaked and rusted everywhere. Any expert opinions on saving the board, getting a recreation board, reusing the chips, etc? Thanks!

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

Ok! I’ve fixed my Apple and this works! It seems though that this uses my Mac to control the Apple, and not the other way around (use the Apple to control the Mac). One of my ideas was to use the Apple to open a terminal software on the Mac through Brew (an image viewer called Chafa) and view it...

Looking for Apple ImageWriter I Manual Part II

Per the title, I’m looking for Part II of the manual: Guide to Apple //e, //plus, and //. Part 1 can be found easily online, but part 2 has stumped me.

Buzzing noise from Apple IIe transistor?

Buzzing noise from Apple IIe transistor?

Alright. Forgive my lack of knowledge, my multimeter has an Ohm option that beeps when continuity is found. Checking C9-17 does give numbers on the screen, but there isn’t any beeping. Would that indicate anything?

Buzzing noise from Apple IIe transistor?

Well, touching any of the capacitors gives me a volt rating of 0. I think something’s toast. Better to just replace all four of those capacitors? Unless I’m doing something wrong, I don’t usually use multimeters

Buzzing noise from Apple IIe transistor?

Thanks, I wasn’t sure if you meant the diodes on the psu or the motherboard, so I took photos of both. Another thing, when I lifted the psu to take photos, I heard a pop, and now the psu makes no noise when turned on. Can I hope that’s the fuse, or is this transistor dead :/

Buzzing noise from Apple IIe transistor?

Heyo, Per the subject, my Apple IIe won't turn on, and there's a buzzing noise coming from the transistor. Originally, the transistor was making a clicking noise, and the power led would blink on and off, but now its gotten faster and the led doesn't turn on at all. I've read a few posts about...

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

I didn't know about closing the screen utility. Unfortunately, there's a problem with my apple, again! It doesn't turn on, and the transistor keeps clicking, I think it's shorted. I'll open a new post for that, but if anyone has any suggestion, I'm all ears.

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

So I got ADTPro working, and I followed your steps. Terminal on my Mac is giving me the error, "Sorry, could not find a PTY". I've been using this cable, as the original reddit post said that this one worked (https://shorturl.at/JD4sy). Not sure if it's a null modem or a straight through.

Using Apple II as a dumb terminal?

Okay! I'm back. Thanks to Epooch for sending me a replacement jumper! Anyways, I used IN#1 at the basic command to test the card, that seems to work as the Apple SSC prompt can be accessed. I then used ADTPro, which doesn't work. My host computer says Request: Desktop Contents (the desktop is...

    Apple II psu potentiometer

Great, and once I do that would I need a multimeter or oscillator to reset the voltages? Or at least view them.

    Apple II psu potentiometer

How would I do that? The hard drive I have in mind is an old sata drive with a 4 pin molex input for power

Ah shoot, thanks for that. Yeah, I’m not sure how to test that, so I would appreciate some help😖

    Apple II psu potentiometer

Hello, I was cleaning a burst RIFA in my Apple II psu and I happened to spin this potentiometer. Just curious what its purpose is and if I made a mistake that can be fixed. Thanks!

    Macintosh Plus Custom Casing?

Heyo, A while ago I had this grand idea to send my Plus out to Cali to have it fixed, long story short it came back with a cracked and mangled outer case. No I have just the guys sitting on a table. So, instead of buying a replacement case, would there be some possibility of making a new...
