Picked this up from FreeCycle today. A Grape iMac G3 with Accessory Kit and UMAX Astra 2100U scanner. It's 333Mhz/160Mb/6Gb and has all the CD's, manuals, iMac "Yum" poster, etc. Came from a smoker, but I can't smell it, but the cords to the KB/Mouse are VERY yellow. See the pics. iMac itself...

Ah, ok. I though you meant when you hit a key, a different character is typed. Yeah, like quadraman said, probably stuck keys. I forget if the keys on the //c are removable, but if they are, you could clean underneath, etc. Might stop the problem :/

When you say random characters, what do you mean? I don't know if your familiar with the Dvorak layout, but you may want to check it with the characters you get. Are the characters letters or something different?

Augh, I have a MS Wireless Intellimouse 2.0 (iirc) and it has the stupid mushy scroll wheel, how anyone puts up with that, I don't know.

About the keyboard: is it set to Dvorak? You can switch between Qwerty and Dvorak using the button above the keyboard. I forget what its labled, but look and press it. Try a external floppy drive abdsee if that works.
